Anyone putting stock in Dec 15th?

By the way, the guy in the Reddit post who posted the pic of the notebook page with all the galaxy nexus information, that piece of paper is called a "Call-Out-Card". You find them in Verizon's OMM marketing system online (an internal system). I've seen this call-out-card many times myself. Just verifying what this guy is saying.

OMM is a system usually only 1-2 employees per store have access to, and my spouse is one of them. It is how VZW communicates all marketing/signage/promotional information to corporate stores. So again, the 15th, at this time, is a yes. There's no good reason to not buy it.

I hear you...and agree.. I think its alot of BS too..... just passing the word along that I personally heard from the Verizon Rep..

I wasn't discounting what you said. I just think that would be hilarious if that was the reason for the delay. All of us clamoring for it made them think they wouldn't be able to handle demand.

Although I want the phone as badly as the next guy on this forum, this whole release is just too ridiculous to not be funny at this point.

Sorry to add fuel to the fire, folks, but this is worth sharing.

Hello [name redacted],

There is indeed a conference call tonight, scheduled for 9 PM ET. The only information we have been given about the call is that it involves the Galaxy Nexus. There were no specifics given, so stating anything further is simply speculation. We were told today that the Galaxy Nexus' release date will once again be visible in the Equipment Guide tomorrow morning. However, we were also told that information is on hold pending tonight's conference call. I'm afraid that is all I have to share at this time.

Regards,

Makes sense. If it is going to be released thursday you would think a press release would come out tomorrow therefor tonight they would decide on whether they are going to announce it tomorrow or not.

The conference call is going to be to inform them that they will not release the GN until AF's
Member "guinnkevinr" returns the Galaxy Nexus to the BB that has been calling him all day to return it.

Except it wasn't verizon who called him to return it. if verizon wanted it back they would have called him. Most likely it is bb trying to cover their butts...

My buddy works for vz corporate and had a meeting on the 8th and they were told it was gonna happen. Talked to him today and still no info. He feels that there was a minor hicup and it should come this week.

I said target date, not the actual release date. Are you really trying to argue that a target release date always HAS to be met? That's why it's called a TARGET release date. You know what a target is? It's something you try to hit. Obviously Verizon missed.

December 9th was the date they intended to launch the Nexus, and obviously something major delayed it. They wouldn't have sent our NATIONWIDE emails to corporate and reseller stores stating it was if they had no intentions of releasing it on the 9th.

My argument was your targeted dates are wrong. Until Verizon officially announces it all targets are rumors.

This is the point I was trying to make with another poster prior to quoting that reply.

He mentioned that it was delayed regardless of Verizon announcing it. He used an incorrect "targeted" date too. While I agree there can be targeted dates that are true when planned it doesn't make them correct.

I guarantee you the discussion is all about should we release the GN now or wait until after Christmas so the Droid 4 can get more sales on the 22nd.

Idk if that is the discussion since it was said that verizon was going to do a soft launch and not put much into the nexus. I think verizon is getting tired of the bad press they are getting and beginning to see how screwed up some stores are because of their lack of communication.

I know, its called a joke, why is everybody so serious in these forums?????

I agree that it was "delayed" because Verizon never announced a launch date, we only knew of December 9th because of inside sources. However, December 9th wasn't just a rumor, there's no way you can spin it to say that it was "just a rumor." It was a targeted date for release, which was missed due to unknown reasons. Was it the launch date? Obviously not. Was it the intended launch date last week? Yes. The emails more than proved that.

I wouldn't exactly say December 15th is a target date, I have no proof other than my strong belief in the sources who say it is, because their history has proven them to be honest sources, however, there hasn't been picture proof of it like there was for December 9th.

Because everyone feels entitled to a phone that was only said to be launched before the end of the year. People get upset when "target" dates come and go like they were some sort of official release date. The fact that people are getting so upset about this is ridiculous. It's a phone.

The whole Best Buy thing is a joke. For no reason would they ask for them to return the product. Sure the associate/manager may get reprimanded (if they were to actually do anything) but Verizon allowed the phone to be activated on the network so at this point, why would they care? It's a sale, it's done with, they made their money.

I think verizon cracked down on sending emails and will wait until the last minute after the equipment guide leaked and the tech sites went crazy. I think verizon wants this more low key and that took it way out of proportion and stole some of their thunder.

I don't know how you are tied to Verizon but from my perspective there has been at least 4 of those release emails over the randum rumored dates that to me we just as compelling as the 9th's paper/email/whatever.

The 15th might be the day because its the only rumored date without any "evidence" lol....

If it was any more low-key, it would regress back into a thought and idea...lol..
