Anyone returning it?

How much of a hassle is it to switch to the Note 4 in the 14 day period? I am with ATT.

I will give the phone a few more days to see if I can find value in the side wedge over the row of favorite Icons along the bottom of the screen.

So far:

Pro
Looks pretty cool and a conversation starter

Cons
A bit clumsy to hold
Lack of cases and screen covers
Need to swipe the side wedge to get to favorite apps
Probable lack of custom ROMs because of small user base.

If you're having buyer's remorse you should probably return it.

As for me and my house though the Edge panel is a great value added. I also own the Note 4 and right now it's just sitting on my dresser.

So far from this thread we have eight people who love the phone, and are keeping it. We have two people who are returning it. It looks the majority of the people who replied to this thread are not returning it. So this thread is a failure.

I love how people will BMW about a product. They try to get people to talk them I to keeping it or they want to argue with everyone about why they are right and you are wrong. Figured out save your fingers and let them BMW or do this.
Sir please take it back and stop bothering those who like and value the device.

Edge is so cool that when it sits on the dresser you can make use of the edge panel. The Note 4 just sits there and does nothing.

This is so true. The Note Edge has value just sitting on a table because via the Edge screen the user can interact with the device without ever turning on the display.

The word when this phone was first announced was that it would be a limited edition and the launch countries would be few.

I had kinda told myself that it wasn't coming to the states so I purchased the Note 4 (N4) instead.

Well, a week later it's announced that Sprint will sell the Note Edge, but I decided to keep the N4 since I didn't have a time frame on the release date.

My only regret now is that I should have been a bit more patient because once the Edge was available I purchased one on the first day.

It's too late now to return the N4 so I will just keep it as a back up in the event something happens to the Edge.

So I take the kids to Cici's Pizza tonight and a gentleman sees me using the Note Edge, and comes over and strikes up a conversation.

He has a brand new Note 4 and shared with me how much he was enjoying his phone, having come from using the HTC Evo (oh the horror).

He said he thought about getting the Edge but the salesperson at Sprint convinced him to get the Note 4.

He asked me "why do you like the Edge?"

I said to him, "let's try an experiment." Let's lay both phones flat on the table, and with one touch let's see which phone can tell us the time, weather, date, number of emails and text messages, sports scores, and the latest news updates.

He looked at me funny, and with one genie swipe of the Edge screen the panel lit up and began to scroll across with all the information I stated. He thought that was the coolest thing he'd ever seen.

He didn't say he was, but I got the impression that the phone he was going to return was the Note 4.

Just got mine yesterday and love it. Not sure I like to turn my head to read my notifications but I'm getting used to it. Need a case and a tempered glass screen protector! Does anyone know if there will be a spare battery and charger made by Samsung?

Nope. I love this Phone! Came from a Galaxy S4.. Skipped the S5 When i heard rumors about this phone.

Maybe because they feel it wasn't worth the cost? Aren't as blown away by it as imagined?

Just curious...

Great question 67srbell as I have the Note 4 and I've have thought about selling it and picking up the Edge. Thus I am curious as well. I appreciate the opinions of those who've taken the time explained the pros and cons of using either or both phones. It's great to here from the "real" readers as I feel many "professional" or experienced reviewers often touch on many important points, but because they either review so often or perhaps do it as living I feel that a fresh perspective (in this case the average forum reader's) is a great source or tool to have as well when deciding whether or not to purchase this phone. Many thanks for the question and to those who have responded.

P.S. It appears as though there are a few that have a taken offense to your question and I'm sorry as I'm not certain if they are attempting to
justify their own purchases by putting others down for answering the op or if they are simply bitter folks altogether. I for one would like to know IF and WHY someone else may have returned it.

I decided not to return mine. But the side wedge does not really add a whole lot besides the coolness factor. My family calls it a spaceship as in "your spaceship is ringing". Perhaps in the future there will be some more development of the side wedge that makes it more useful. I am puzzled why they did not include a wedge that would show a scrollable list of the the icons of the most recent apps I used. I am sure something like that will be coming. I see a few people at xda forum are messing around creating some simple new wedges.

I would say if the size of a Note in general does not bother you, you are willing to have a smartphone with a small user base (less developer and 3rd party manufacturer interest), and it does not feel to clumsy in your hand - go for it. It costs only a few dollars more than the Note 4.

I'm not sure why you are keeping the phone, and you should have returned it. I use the edge panel to switch from app to app from the edge panel and without having to hit the home button. There is a recent app panel that can be downloaded. The phone feels no different to hold than any other larger sized phone. My two previous phones were the Note 3 and the Note 2, and the Edge is much better them both of them. One thing I would like to see Samsung add is another favorite app panel.

I've had both the note 4 and edge several times until I settled on the edge.:-) I looked at it this way, I get 99% of what the note 4 has and the note 4 has most of what the edge has, except the edge. The note 4's are plentiful, at least in my area. But the edge is not. My battery life is about 10% less than the note 4. Accessories are starting to come around, you just may have to get creative. In the future, I can always sell the edge to get a note 4, but maybe not the other way around.

Not sure why you care if I keep the phone or not. I only answered the OP question and gave my honest opinion. Just because I don't think it is the best phone ever made should not offend anyone.

There is no recent app panel that I can find. There is a task manager panel that does not show all the recent apps I used in order. The best I can tell it shows active apps and often does not show them all. Currently it is only showing "Home" .

I'm loving this phone. A few things need to be worked out after having it for a few days but otherwise it's great.

I am not returning mine either. I like being able to switch apps cold. That meaning that the app I am switching to hasn't been loaded into the background. I must slide the sidebar and start the app.

See now I think this is an opinion as well. I happen to get a LOT of use out of my side panels. Sometimes it's just attitude toward it. If you decide that you want to get as much as you can from something, you will do just that. If you make up your mind that it is just fluff, you probably won't even try.

I'm not offended, but I don't understand why someone would purchase a phone like the Edge, and then call the Edge panel useless. I guess you did not know what you were buying. I was fully aware of what I was buying and use the Edge panel whenever I pick up the phone. It seems like you have buyer remorse, and I was just suggesting maybe you should get something more to your liking. The majority of the users who replied to this thread love the Edge panel and used it some form or the other.
