Anyone returning Rezound For Nexus?

Stock and not sense. Sense really does bring alot of functionality. I couldn't give up my flip clock, friendstream and 80 other widgets it includes as well as the kick ass lockscreen

Ick...There are 3rd party apps that are better than all of those. Beautiful Widgets is way better than that stupid flip clock IMO.

I bought a Rezound. It will be my first HTC phone. It should be here either today or tomorrow. One of my first tasks will be to get rid of Sense. Beautiful Widgets and LauncherPro will be installed immediately. And I am going to check out cleantool and see about scrubbing the rest of the Sense pollution off of the phone as well.

The nicest thing I can say about Sense is that it is LESS offensive than Touchwiz or Motoblur. I really hate the fact that these vendors push this crap on us. It'd be nice if I was given an actual choice from them instead of having to find all these workarounds for add-ons I dont want. Isnt having to deal with Verizon bloat bad enough?

If you really love the GN, sit tight. They acknowledged it earlier today. So they are aware of the low signal issue. They are working on an update, as a priority. Personally, I found the Rezound to be a better phone overall, but that's just my $.02.

Yeah, I'm seeing that now. There is no ETA at all yet though. Are we talking a week, 3 weeks, 2 months? Because that is how long I will basically be without internet on my phone. It's not that it never works, but every day since I've owned this phone (6 days) I have NEEDED (not wanted) to browse the web for info and it not worked (even on 3g).

I finally choose the Rezound. I heard the VZW will be releasing a fix for the low signal issue - but I heard all the rumors about issues with the Charge and other sammy device, basically it never really got fixed. ICS will also arrive for the Rezound - esp. if they want to get folks to buy their phone instead of the GN. The GN is nice but I need something that will be solid (fun of course).

You're nuts. If you have a Nexus on 4G and GPS, say goodbye. It drains so fast, you can't even charge it if it's plugged in, because the charge can't keep up with the power demands.

As w/ anything, in battery life, boils down to what's running in the background of the OS. Which varies greatly per user. Stock battery on the GN ticked off slower running apps, browsing & streaming videos, it had better results than the Rezounds stock battery. I didn't use gps, so I really have no idea how that affected battery life on the GN. Call me crazy but I'll stand by my expierience and results I saw w/ my own 2 eyes.

Probably the best choice Rezzy over GNex if you had the volume and wifi issues...with more and more issues reported on gNex like the touch-screen "missing" gestures...ICS is all I envy on the GNex. I can get NFC on a battery later most likely if it ever catches on. (too many legacy phones do not have NFC for there to NOT be a NFC solution for enabling "wallets" on older non-NFC devices....like SGS2 even? heh if that phone does not have NFC then I am SURE someone will find a way to enable it's use!

I'm already dead set on getting the Zound, but it's still interesting to hear other views. And maybe it's because this is the Rezound branch of the forum, but I'm just not hearing any compelling reasons to not pick the Zound. ICS will come, NFC doesn't have a huge draw for me, and and and... And I can't think of a single other thing that the GN has that the Zound doesn't have or won't do better. For those silly people (only being factious not really calling anyone silly) who don't like sense temp root will allow you to desense and debloat this Rezounding piece of equipment. Although personally I love sense, and am thrilled beyond expression that I'll be able to turn off the Big Red offerings. Always asking if I want to use VZ Navigator over GMaps? Really? Are you kidding?

I'm keeping my Rezound. It's my first HTC phone and it's a keeper. I can't get over how darn good the camera is. My Nikons are bummed out sitting on the floor :'(

I'm also keeping the Rezound. My Nikons still get used almost daily but it's nice to have such a great camera in this phone. I have been very impressed with the image quality so far.

I switched from a Droid X and really loved that phone but one of the buttons broke and I got the Rezound with the intention of switching to the GN once it came out. After having the Rezound for a few weeks now, no way in hell I am switching. I love this phone. Call quality, 3/4G and GPS reception and wifi are all out standing. Battery life is decent with the stock battery and I am really liking Sense. Also, as mentioned above, I love the camera.

The size is fine with me. I don't think it's thick at all and haven't really noticed it compared to my Droid X. The build quality and heft of the phone is very nice. I like a heavier phone. The Samsungs and even the Razr just seem flimsy. Plus the Razr was extremely wide. I don't care if the Razr were made out of solid steel, I would break that thing is half while in my front pocket. Plus, the Rezound just looks cool to me. Not really of any importance but I think it's one of the best looking phones around.

As other have stated in other threads, once this phone gets ICS, it's probably going to be a better phone that the GN overall.

I returned my Nexus for Rezound also. I thought the Nexus felt cheap, the battery is very poor, the vanilla gets boring too fast. My major problem with the Nexus and google needs to fix ASAP is the Photo sync. I own 2 soft porn sites and since I use my gmail email on the site all the pics from my sites showed up my phone's gallery. There is no way to remove the pics unless I shutdown my sites then resync the phone with photos unchecked. That's very dumb but it's one a the major problems with ICS right now. I also have iPhone 4s and that I use for work emailing because even with ICE android still has a hard time handling HTLM emails where the iPhone does a fantastic job with.

I know this is off topic, but what are the names of your sites? Out of curiosity, of course. I have been known to, *ahem*, browse various forms of "art."

No, but I am considering returning my galaxy nexus for the rezound.

I just turned my GN off and turned my Charge back on will be returning it tomorrow, I'm trying to talk myself into holding off a bit longer and see what else hits the shelves in Jan but the Rezound really sounds promising.

The Rezound is a great phone, no doubt. I came from an OG Droid, so I skipped an entire generation of phones (the first 4G ones) and headed straight for this beast. Needless to say, it was a huge upgrade from my previous phone.
But if I were you, I'd wait 3 weeks until CES and see what's on the horizon. If it looks crappy, go for the Rezound. Keep in mind, however, that even though they're unveiled at CES, they're still plenty of months away.

Didn"t expect to see you post again so soon. Figured you were gonna be browsing "art" online, for the better part of the day.

Nah. These forums are my main source of entertainment here at work. I can't decide if working a desk job is boring because I sit most of the day, or pretty cool because I'm online most of the day.

Btw, I totally meant that comment as friendly ribbing. Funny thing about the job situation, I can relate all too well. I think my 500+ posts in 8.5 weeks sums up what I've been killing time w/ behind the desk lately.

I misread "friendly ribbing" as "friendly rubbing" at first. lol
I've been lurking on AC since like July, but got around to creating an account a month or two ago. This and the Rezound keep my work day going. I'd probably jump out a window if I didn't have them.
