I use both. Never a switcher.
I was annoyed with my Note 8 and after that fiasco if a fps have to say I love Face ID, even now with the improved Note 9. Thankfully the new location and also faster fps.
Face ID learns, works at different distances and angels and XS model has improved the hardware that it uses.
To each their own, or multi cross- platform. Spare / backup and 2nd private phone number too. I would never be w/o 2nd (and 3rd) phone, which is what my Essential has become, and which Note replaced.
