Anyone switching back to pixel 3 from iPhone??

Had pixel 2 at launch and after a few weeks ended up selling it and got an iPhone X. Loving it so far. After watching the pixel 3 launch, I almost ordered the pixel 3 (not XL). Despite it being quite ugly, the camera and the price makes me want to order. Also google dock is free if I preorder.

Have no complaints on iPhone so far. But being a phone addict doesn’t help. If I end up buying the pixel, I’ve to return my Apple Watch 4 and sell all the extra bands I bought privately. And get a Fitbit or something. Headaches for sure

Anyone else thinking along the same lines??

Yep. I'll be going to the Pixel 3 XL from the iPhone XS Max. While the iPhone XS Max is a good phone, I want to go back to Android. I prefer Android. And the Pixel 3 XL 128GB is $500 less than my 512GB iPhone XS Max. I'd like that $500 back.

I have an iPhone XS Max and I’m switching back to Pixel 3 XL. I absolutely loved my Pixel 2 XL but I’ve always jumped back and forth between iPhone and Android. Guess I’ll have the best of both worlds

Curious side topic, what do you guys do with the expensive Apple phones you just bought to get the Pixel 3s? Do you get back the original cost if selling on ebay or swappa?

I’m not selling my iPhone XS Max, I’m keeping because I tend to go back and forth.

I’ve been buying and selling phones through craigslist for years and that pays for my habit.

Wow, sounds like a post I would have made. I was forced into using a pixel 2 for over 3 weeks last month because I sold my iPhone X and forced myself into using pure Android. I tried about 5 times this year and within days I would go back to my X. So, this time I said I wasn't going to allow myself to do that and sold it on Swappa. The pixel 2XL size was too large for me and with the blue tint issues I decided to go for the smaller pixel 2. Compared to the X, the screen sucked but I loved pure Android. The camera, well that's what I miss most. It doesn't even compare to the iPhone camera. Making it even better on the pixel 3 made me wonder if I should preorder. The screen has been improved tremendously on the pixel 3 too.

I went on eBay and purchased a Fitbit! Why!!!!
I have a series 4 watch and an iPhone X, what am I doing?! Then, I ordered a google pixel 3 fabric case!!! Why!!!

My main issue I had with the pixel 2 was battery life. It was absolutely terrible compared to my X, maybe you can agree on that? I know Google has increased the battery on the 3, and the OLED screen will help with battery life but man am I worried it won't be reliable enough for me. I wake up at 6, sometimes hit the gym with Bluetooth headphones and work till 5. My battery usually lasts me till about 9-11pm depending on my usage with YouTube etc. The pixel 2 while using Bluetooth headphones sucked the battery and even watching YouTube videos sucked the battery. This is what's holding me back!

What did you end up doing with your Note 9? So, you went XS Max to Note 9-back to XS Max and now going to the Pixel 3 XL? All over the last 2 weeks?

I thought you were using a Note 9 and that you had plans to returns your XS Max? Said you felt stupid for buying it, have been very critical of the XS Max and what it offers for the cost. Last I thought I read you said you had a "I have a $1,449 paperweight" - but you saying you are leaving it for the Pixel 3 XL comes across as it being your current daily driver. You went back to the XS Max as your primary over the Note 9? Also, you've been quite critical of the Pixel 3 XL as well, example being it only having 128GB is storage available and it having a big ugly notch and chin that doesn't interest you. The low light photography is enough to make you forget about all that?

Man, I thought I went through a lot of phones but never this many changes in the matter of a couple weeks LOL.


At the end of the day, most important thing is you have the device you want but trying to cipher through and make sense of your posts on the XS Max, Note 9 and Pixel 3XL is impossible. The comments through various threads contradict themselves.


Smartphones addiction is a very expensive addiction to have. I have it to a degree as well but my oh my seeing all the device you've made in under a month shows me that my addiction is not as bad as I thought LOL.


In closing, I think the Pixel 3 XL is going to be a great device. I was able to look at one on demo display and the screen is outstanding. Best display I think I've seen on a device to date. Will look forward to reading user reviews/feedback about it but won't be buying it. I have what I need out of the devices I currently have.

Keeping my iPhone 7+ (probably will sell it) coming back to Android with Pixel 3 (not XL), last Android was a 6P. While the X/XS look like great iphones, some things im not a fan of design wise and the price doesn't help (even for the X here in Canada is nuts).
