Anyone take their G6 for a swim?

I was at a water park pool last weekend and wanted to take pics of the kids, so I braved up and did it. With the G6 in pocket, I went for a swim and took some pics. It survived, and I got some good shots. It made me a little nervous afterwards as the sound coming through its speaker was garbled, but it eventually dried out and all seems to be normal now. Anyone else take the plunge yet? I find it hard to do, even though they claim water resistance.

I don't have a G6, but if I did, and the water were in THAT direction, I'd go in THE OTHER direction.

I have gotten hit with a couple water balloons while it was in my pocket. No issues but I personally would not intentionally submerge it. That said, good to know it survived but to me water resistance means if I drop it in water it should survive, if I get it wet in the rain it will be fine. I'm not diving in a pool with it.

I haved it several time in the sea and pool... Thou sea is more dangerous coz of salt.. So after I was home I washed it under tap water... And for pool no issue.. Took some under water pics....

So after I was home I washed it under tap water...

This comes up occasionally on water resistant phone discussions, so I figured it was worth mentioning. Technically, the "8" in an IP68 rating is only for still (not moving) water. While there's about a 90% chance the phone manufacturer made the seals good enough to run under low-pressure tap water, the rating does not really cover it.

If you need to rinse the salt off your phone (which is a GREAT thing to do, because salt is nasty to electronics), I'd recommend running a little water into the sink, turning off the tap, and immersing the phone in the water. That way there's zero chance that the running tap water can "push" its way through a weak gasket.

For running water, you want an IPx4 - IPx6 rating.

Again, almost certain your phone has protection against what is basically "falling water", but better safe than sorry...
