Anyone thinking of getting the GW8?

Leaks are showing the GW8 Classic in silver with black inner bezel (outer is also silver) or silver and white combo, which looks nice but just not my style. Personally, I would like to have seen an all black version like they've done for so many years but doesn't look like that's going to be an option this year.

Otherwise, the Ultra seems almost unchanged, other than new color variant - blue (also not my style). The standard GW8 has the new Squircle design (Classic has also but not as pronounced) and honestly I think it's the best looking one in the bunch.

Seems like there is nowhere near the usual excitement and buzz regarding the GW8 series compared to usual. Wondering if it's going to flop.

Perhaps, but it isn't a feature I've seen leakers comment about yet.

It's also possible that any improvements in fall detection will be made through software improvements found in the next version of One UI which should be available as an update to all GW7 devices shortly after the release of GW8.

I'm interested in the 8 Classic but I'd like to know the differences between the new Ultra and 8 Classic.

I will be buying either the classic or Ultra. I have a 7 Ultra and the sleep metrics don't work accurately and neither do steps. But I have the 25 Ultra phone and I want something that will work well with it si I'll give a Samsung watch another try and hope for the best but I have to say that it seems that with every Unpacked event we keep seeing products being issued with some new features and also a.number.of older features removed. It may be time for a new non Chinese manufacturer to come play in this sandbox.

I agree, Samsung needs to stop adding features and focus on making the ones currently offered work as intended.

I plan on getting the Galaxy Watch 8 Ultra. I currently have the 7 Ultra and a few Watch 6 Classics. I picked up a couple of 6 Classics on Amazon at a really cheap price. I may also get a new 8 Classic. I still think that the 6 Classic has the best design of all the Galaxy watches.

i haven't bought a smart watch yet, was going to buy the watch 7 last year but the bad reviews for fall detection stopped me.

the problem is: i am buying a smart watch SPECIFICALLY for the fall detection feature, and it seems like ONLY the apple watch is good at that.

there is also an off brand, purpose-specific watch that specifically detects fall detection that is said to be good. i haven't looked into it yet because i've not heard of that watch previously.

I ordered the GW8 Classic in silver/black although I'm not thrilled about the smaller display size compared to GW6 Classic

I was watching some of the live but I planned on getting the watch 8. I love my 7 and I always get just the regular 40mm one and I get a work discount and will trade in. Not sure about the squircle but I will see what my final price will be after trade-in. It's usually 60 or 80 plus Rakuten cash back which is only 3% today for wearables. I know their isn't much difference and I have small wrist but I have neve done the 44mm and am wondering if I would like it. I should of went to Best Buy and looked at a 44 7 just to see. But if I do get it I think I like the graphite better than silver that I usually do still deciding.

There was a GW8 that was paired with a blue hybrid leather band w/white stitching (don't see it on Samsung website) and those colors, paired with the watchface was really sharp. But I'm after that rotating bezel.

Oh, and when I checked Rakuten earlier, it wouldn't show the preorder credit. So, 9% cash back wasn't giving me the deal I got through Samsung.

Watch reviews on YouTube. No one has commented so far on that feature that I have seen. My honest opinion, Samsung isn't going to be a reliable device for something like that anytime soon. Their health tracking sometimes isn't even that accurate and that's their primary focus

I saw 9% but that wasn't for wearables wearables only said 3%. And I signed up at some other Samsung Guru site to get a mystery box but I don't know how that works if I still can order through Samsung and I get my work discount. But I don't know I think the bigger one might be a little too heavy for me and I'm used to the smaller one. Here's a picture of what I have now I just think the other one might look too big or be too heavy I don't know. I should go look at him but I think I'll just go to cheaper route and get the smaller one.

My husband likes the bezel and we were trying to figure out what he had he thought it was the 5 pro. But he did upgrade to the 6 classic it's a 47 because he's got the bezel.. I'm trying to see what his price is if he were to upgrade cuz he likes the bezel but he's not as into it as I am.

Can't answer all of your questions but I can tell you that, with the pre-order, for once my $50 preorder credit was actually automatically applied to the shopping cart.

Then Samsung gave me $250 for my GW6 Classic.

My total cost for the silver/black GW8 Classic was $200 plus tax which made it $235.57

Can someone tell me how the $50 reserve works I forget? I know i got emails and saw on Facebook click here to reserve and put in emails but I saw only for phones. I wasn't sure they were doing watches again. Do you have to go through Samsung Shop? And I reserved but I think it was under my other account before I got approved for work discount.

Also has anyone done this mystery box thing from Samsung Guru? it says preorder through there link for a mystery box. It says it will have either a watch band or screen protector or a cleaning cloth.

I went to the web logged in under my work email but I put in a different email by mistake for the reserve an old account. I wasn't seeing my $50. My cash back app 3% was only 10 bucks so I thought maybe is try this Samsung Guru link . But than I did a chat and he said use my link I'll create you a cart with your 50 plus my work discount was like 6 bucks so it came to 94 before chat it was wanting to charge me like. 142. This is for the small 40mm 8. Just Curious.

Well I don't know why mine wasn't automatically applied it was doing funny things last year too when I tried to order. But my cart was all ready and I hit save for later and then everything went away and I called Samsung and they said you got to wait 24 to 48 hours since you canceled. I kept telling the lady on the phone I never canceled I never ordered to begin with how am I supposed to get the $50 to begin with is all I wanted to know. But anyway I'm at work and I went back to the same computer in the chat guy's still there and he's going to issue me a cart back once I pick out a band. Cuz I wasn't sure which band I wanted.

But now he's telling me the $50 Reserve is to use for if you're going to buy something else like buds and now he's acting like I don't get $50 extra off the watch so I'm really confused. He had it in my card it was $94 I should have never clicked on save for later and just took what I had ordered. Well I called back Samsung and he was trying to help me and then we got cut off and now they're closed what do you know. Me and my husband both had trouble before with this $50 Reserve not showing up. Maybe I need to log into my other account see if it takes it off there and not worry about my $6 work discount.
