Anyone trying out DK28 yet?

I saw people say the one click root still worked would they be referring to the one click root with clockwork?

Everything is good except I am having a problem rotating from portrait to landscape and back. Anyone else?
yeah im loving froyo but so far but i'm likewise having orientation issues, before my phone was fine but now the tiniest turn send it landscape? is this a common problem or did a setting get tweaked somehow? Not that big a deal its just EXTRA sensitive since the update. Also my battery life seems to be draining a bit faster with the same amount of usage and no news apps downloaded (besides flash) and no setting (to my knowledge) being changed.

You can try this.

Alright just did a default restore and now everything is peachy no more closed apps. :) So if anyone is having any issues just do a factory restore and reinstall your apps..it's worth it. ;)

^^^ THIS

It is a very very good idea to manually reinstall your apps after updating to Froyo.

bless you ragnarokx! and i can even change my launcher bar buttons now :)

Glad you like it :D

Try calibrating your screen. Settings>Display>Horizontal calibration

Your battery may be draining faster because you're playing with Froyo so much - it should even out once you start putting down your phone ;)

Froyo handles background apps differently (and better) than Eclair. Are you using the stock task manager to see this?

yes, I noticed some changes, but overall the phone is waaay faster so I don't believe it really matters!

BTW What is makesimdbservice? That def was not there previously, I can guess from the name but is this something new or a renaming?

Are you referring to the 4 buttons on the bottom of the screen? If so how do you change them?

This was a surprise for sure yesterday and the update has so far worked great for my phone. I am happier with my phone and I already thought it was great before.

Just updated using the briefmobile method..
Has anyone tried the z4root with this? Or any other recommended root methods?
My only interest in root is remove bloatware and setup wireless tether...

Go to Applications>press the menu button>Edit>drag and drop to taste.

Yes, z4root will work with Froyo.

I tried it and it locked up the phone. Just kept that blue screen (no pun intended for the Windows users) and then started vibrating like crazy. Had to pull the battery.

Any other relatively simple root methods out there?

Stupid Question

Flashing the ACS version now :D

I have a stock version except for the fact that I did the one click root. So I too get the same error. Is there any way to update to Froyo without wiping everything out? Also, What would be the steps. Sorry if this has been covered. Thanks

Use this thread to troubleshoot z4root. It also has an alternative root method.

Just a quick question. I know I probably won't need it but if I install dk28 and for some reason need to go back to to eclair di18 and use Odin how would I do that? I have then stock di18 rom and pit saved on my phone but would I have to do something to the kernel? Also I have the don't have the updated Odin do I need to use that or is the older version fine? Thanks I just want to have a safety net invade I need to go back for any reason. I've used Odin before when mynphone wouldn't update but I didnt have to do anything with changing kernels. Also I should have used the acs way for the root but I returned to completely stock and I saw two ways to do it from stock. What way do you all recommend? The update.zip or the flashing of the tar with Odin? Thanks

I'm downloading the update.zip as I type this. I was wondering though, is there any validity to the people saying it's limited to 800mhz? Or is it like stock where it normally runs at 800mhz but will bump it up to 1000 if necessary?
