Anyone unimpressed with the screen?

I notice the pixelation only on very light colors and whites. To me it just pretty much looks like I had greasy fingers and touched it there (even though I didn't on either account). I did come from an LCD though in the Thunderbolt.

I usually pick dark wallpapers and themes though so I'm not too incredibly concerned.

Next to iphone4, an incredible 2 and a tbolt, this screen looks better to me and everyone else here at work today.

I turned off the auto-brightness, it's too dim for me.

There will always be people who are unimpressed with anything, and isn't it funny how they are always the most vocal. Mine is awesome!

Wait a second..........You bought a phone with a bad GPU, a phone that is outdated, with Unimpressive camera, and a phone that is cheap and ugly? I am perplexed.

I just got my Nexus and I now understand why people hate pentile. The Nexus seems more pixelated than my OG Droid, so I can't imagine what the pentile must have been like on a lower resolution screen. And it's especially noticeable with whites.

I've felt robbed ever since I saw it was underclocked and ever since saw how bad the GPU was, and just recently when I saw how unimpressive the camera is.

Quad-core is too close now. To buy the Nexus is like to build a fire just before the sun comes up.

Would have really liked a Nexus, but I think I'm going to wait for the Padfone which was just said to come in February with quad-core and a tablet dock.

If the Nexus came with 1.5ghz (I know the 4460 is rated for 1.5ghz and I can clock it to that, but rooting is too bothersome because I can't update with it) and a competitive GPU, I'd get it, but that not being the case and it being rather cheap and ugly make me lean towards waiting. Also, megapixels do matter. The 5 MP pics don't look anything special, and I like to zoom around my pictures. I'd rather have more MP than a quick shutter.

I had forgotten what a total dbag the OP is. Why did he even buy this phone?

I won't say "unimpressed," but in my personal side-by-side with this and the Rezound, I favored the Rezound. This phone does look better than the RAZR though, and I didn't think the RAZR looked that bad (some people claim it looks terrible).

anyone compare it to the Fascinate? I think the screen is awesome on my phone, much better than the ones I've compared it to in stores, like the TB

Probably going to get flamed. The Nexus screen is definitely more colorful than the Rezound it really pops. But my young eyes can see slight pixelation. The Rezound screen is much more clear. I love the Nexus screen, and most people probably won't notice the pentile. But there is a point to be made, the Rezound and Nexus screens are both amazing. One is more clear, one is more vibrant. It's just a personal taste thing. I want both :D

Rabble rabble rabble.

I can definitely notice it but it still looks great. A lot better than my ThunderBolt's screen.

Just got the phone. Replaced the OG Droid. There's no comparison between the two. It's like night and day.

I can notice lines on some colors, but its really not that bad. I am coming from OG droid. The Zero lag on the camera is great!! Pictures look pretty dam good too(compared to my OG droid anyway)
Love the phone so far!

It's called being an irrational, impatient consumer, and I will regret it in a few months.

I hate Pentile displays, but I can't see any pixelation on this device at all. Looks perfect.

Neither can I. Hold on let me grab my microscope and look at it then I will come back saying it looks pixelated...

Well you STILL have until January 15th to exchange it. Considering that CES is a bit before this, you'll probably find the one you actually want to use.

Except nothing announced at CES will hit stores before Q2. At the earliest.

I have had plenty of PenTile devices starting with the Atrix. This is leaps and bounds above any other pentile ive had. I wouldnt even buy the Bionic because it almost hurt my eyes. The GN is bested only by the iphone 4/4s and Rezound in my opinion.

How do you unlock the bootloader?

And I love the screen.

Get the SDK and find a fastboot binary. It's everywhere, so just Google it. Connect your phone to your computer and boot to fastboot mode by holding volume down, volume up, and power. Then from your computer run 'fastboot devices' to make sure you're connected. Then run the famous 'fastboot oem unlock' command. Confirm it on the phone.

This wipes everything.
