I wouldn't describe it that way at all. The size of the keys does not change. Instead, each key handles 2 letters, like the BB Pearl keyboards. Text prediction is used to determine which of the 2 letters should be used. You have an option for the keyboard in portrait mode (full qwerty, phone keypad, and compact qwerty). Compact qwerty is like suretype for the Storm. The area that you touch becomes bigger so you can be more accurate.

Oops -- I just realized you weren't implying that the key size becomes bigger while you're typing the word. That's the way the ThickButtons Android keyboard works.
My problem with the HTC sense keyboard is the darn . I.hit.it.too.much.thinking.I.hit.the.space.bar. It is not needed and the space bar should be bigger. Unless that is another Apple patent that they don't want to get hammered for.
