I use Nova Prime in combination with Side Control.

The stock LG launcher is pretty good, but I miss all the customization options Nova gives me, as well as the ability to hide apps from the app drawer.

Changed it up and moved from Nova to Action.

I have to admit that the "covers" feature is very cool. I used to have a number of widgets spread over 3 home screens where as now I have a single home screen with a minimal set of folders that contain shortcuts that I can now use to temporarily display a widget(s) at any time so this launcher allows me to use screen space more efficiently.

I was using Action prior to G3 but I could not find a way to do knock off double tap screen to turn it off.

Just double-tap on the time or the battery icon in the top right of your screen.

I downloaded Action, just to make sure I was correct but with every launcher I've tried (Action, Nova, Buzz, ADW), you can just double-tap in the notification area. Not quite as handy as being able to double-tap in any blank screen on your home screen, but it still works.

Sometimes I switch up from Nova. Right now I'm using Flow and loving it. Doesn't have the gestures I love in Nova but it's still a very good launcher.

NOVA Prime here and my favorite! I tried Action Launcher today on my GPad, very impressed. It may make the phone after a bit.

So kind of a amateurish question here...I guess I don't really understand how launchers work. But psychologically I always felt like things would be smoother if I kept to the stock launcher. On my Nexus 4 I just used the stock and then Google Now Launcher. Now on my G3 I have been using the stock launcher as well (which I quite enjoy). Will using a third party launcher cause any lag... Or is it just placebo effect if I think things are slowing down?

Depends on how efficient the code is I guess.

I know from experience that assuming stock software is the best solution can be erroneous.

If you compare the features of Nova to stock GEL you'll find that Nova is far superior. In the years I've been using it I've always found it to perform very well.

I've attached a list of features. Remember there's a free version, I'd highly recommend you give it a try.

So after playing for just a bit on my G Pad with Action Launcher I took it to my phone! Very slick and quick! Maybe a keeper upsetting my love affair with Nova Prime. Thanks for the suggestions...

Yes! Disabled the 1-Swipe though. All else is very nice. Does seem that battery usage is up a bit. Too soon too tell. I'll be watching though..

Nova launcher and it's smokin fast. Only drawback is you have to hit the top bar to tap off but I'm used to it already and not that big of a deal.

The only way to get that function as far as I'm aware is either by Moto device or see if someone's hacked the moto software for use on other devices.

I've been using Nova Launcher Prime for years. I love everything about it. I back it up to my Drive account every month or so just in case I have to reset my phone.
