Anyone using Slacker Radio WITHOUT skips?

Slacker seems to work fine on my HTC sprint hero until my screen times out, then it gets sluggish and skippy. If I wake the screen, it goes back to normal. Pandora does not do this. I like the slacker comedy channel, though, and want to keep using it, but this is very annoying. Suggestions?
