Anyone with LG G4 with serial 505 ?

I have a 505 manufactured May 2015 ... it is still going strong, no problems ... luck of the draw

Still on a launch day T-Mobile 505 and still going strong. Is the bootloop issue on all devices or is it random? Better knock on wood since I'm out of warranty now

hi my lg g4 is 509. two weeks ago i sent my phone to the Lg assistence because it is under warranty and i just collected it today but the problem were excatly the same bootloop ( it gets very hot and restart over and over ) well i am very disappointed of lg and its assistence but they don't test the phone before sending back to the customer ? they told me that they changed the motherboard but i think it is an hardware problem.
Well can i send it back to the assistance and why they try to repair it i think they should change it completely.
Please give me any feedback as i am quite disappointed and desperate.

I would contact them on the phone and explain that whatever repair was done, it did not fix the problem. Ask that they provide you with overnight shipping labels for returning it since you've already been without the phone for several weeks.

A minority of devices will bootloop - but the rate MUCH higher than the acceptable tolerance for failure. Odds are greatly in your favor that it will not bootloop. That is little consolation to those that have had their phones die during the least opportune time, such as when using it for GPS navigation in unfamiliar terrain.

Adding to the misfortune with the LG G4. Didn't realize this was a problem until it happened to mine. Bought it end of July 2015 and it has the SN beginning 505. I noticed here lately that the charging seemed to be slower than normal and last night when I was looking on my amazon app it locked up. Pulled the battery and turned it back on.. boot loop.. pulled the battery.. vibrate.. boot loop. Eventually it stopped vibrating or even turning on. Left it with a full battery on last night and what i thought was turned off. Tried to start it again and it did vibrate and even jumped back into the startup screen but it then went back to the lovely LG smile startup. I tried to do a factory reset... did the prompt twice...boot loop. I decided to put a ticket in with LG and they gave me a print label and its now shipped. Still under the 1 year parts/labor warranty so I hope they can fix it. Having separation anxiety until I can get my old S3 back from my parents and use that until I get word as to what's happening with my G4. :( This sucks.

I discovered the hard way, after my 2nd bricking in less than a year, that Capture+ (Screen shot photos) are saved internally to the phone and not to your SD card. There's no way to have them save there by default. So I lost 10 months worth of screen grabs and a few QuickMemo's. For whatever reason they weren't saved to the cloud and so they didn't come down when the Google restore was run last week.

Yes, THIS. Co-signed. DropBox and Google automatically back up everything to their respective sites but Capture+ photos (screenshots) and QuickMemo's are saved to the phone's internal storage. You can't save them, or at least not that I have seen, to the optional SD card you have inserted into your phone. I wish you could. :/

Well my luck ran out! Got the bootloop this morning. In the freezer now to hopefully wipe my data. I am one month out of warranty! Does anyone think lg will honor warranty since this is a common problem?

Manufacturer's defect - don't take no for an answer. Where did you buy the G4?

By the way, if you have a phone, ANY phone - and especially the earlier G4's - backup if you need the data.

I bought mine from T-mobile on the first day available. Lg is covering the repair :)

I had a 505 from Verizon that ran into the bootloop problem in late May/early June this year. Since it was still under the one year LG warranty (only had five days before it expired) LG sent me a replacement that happened to be a 507 which I thought was a bit shady of them to do. Did they send me the G4 from a period known to have this defect because my warranty was about to expire??? In any event I've had the 507 for less than two months and it just died. I'm now waiting for another G4 replacement but this one will be coming from Verizon since it's now past the one year LG warranty.

Mine G4 is 509 and it went in bootloop in April i had it from October. Sent it back i think they replaced motherboard now it works but i hope it wont happen again :/

I got my 505 on 6/6/15. It just bootlooped tonight. I have the Best Buy Geek Squad plan, so I'm taking it in tomorrow night to see what they'll do, since this POS decided to die two and a half months after the LG warranty. :(

I am on my 2nd LG G4. The first one was early in the Boot Loop issue. It appears my "refurb" now has the issue. It has been acting a little odd the past few weeks, and I've put off calling for support/replacement from T-Mobile. I am on the JUMP plan with warranty, so this should be covered. AND, I have a spare phone to put my SIM card in to use while waiting on T-Mo to get a replacement out to me.
All in all, it should be just fine, but it's a PITA to rebuild stuff on a phone.

I left Geek Squad today with my brick. I paid $200.00 for my policy with them when I bought the phone last year, and now they want a $150.00 deductible when I bring it in for something that wasn't accidental damage? I asked if I was getting a new phone. They said no, it would be refurbished. I asked if they were sending the phone to LG. The guy didn't know. BEST BUY IS SELLING A NEW UNLOCKED ONE WITH A LEATHER BACK ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR $299.99, so why would I throw an additional $150.00 away on top of what I paid for the policy for a refurbished phone? Well, forget about Geek Squad. I'll send the phone to LG myself.

That is the crap they pulled on me. I actually went up the corp ladder and still got no where, all they kept saying is "there is nothing wrong with the phone build quality, you cant believe all the internet rumors you read". I ended up paying the $150 to get the refurbish, then ended up with 2 more for that phone before they scrapped it.

I decided I am going back to Geek Squad today. I realized this morning that I'll lose my policy with Geek Squad if LG replaces (or even touches) the phone and then if the phone cracks or breaks I'm stuck with no coverage. I also don't know if LG is going to charge me for the phone, so the heck with it. I'm stuck no matter what, so I'll just go the convenient route.

Just to give you an idea, i had 2 of these G4, one for my wife and one for me. Mine i had 2 refurbish and was going to get my 3rd one thru Best Buy, and on my wife's i had 3 refurbish and it was going to be scrapped, and that was in a month. The best advice i can give you is make sure that the phone you get is 100% perfect and what you want, you will only have a 1 month warranty on the "new" phone. I was sent 2 of them (one for me and one for my wife) that when i opened the box it smelled like burnt electronics so make sure they are perfect. Along with that, and to the mods I am not telling them how to "beat the system or defraud the insurance company", remember that after 3 returns they scrap the phone and give you a gift card for the amount the phone is worth when you bought it. That worx good unless you have a lease for sprint then you are screwed since you have to "turn in a working G4" at the end of the lease. The problem becomes since you cant get one anymore you cant turn in a working one. I went thru Account services (Retentions) and they let me buy out my lease for $50 a line instead of being screwed with having to finish the lease at $16 per month per line and then paying $200 per line for not turning in a "working" G4. Just my suggestions, take it for what it is worth.
