My old droid 4 dont have a scratch on it
This s5 has multiple light scratches all over the screen.....how is a 3 yr old phone resistant to scratches better then this?
I havent dropped the phone once, this must just be from my keys or change in a pocket? Phone is a month old and the screen looks terrible is there anything to use to try to buff them out?

direct sunlight is when you see them the most

What else could be the cause? It takes more than keys or change to scratch these screens.

Glass scratches. Period.

Screen protectors are like $1 to $3 a pop.

If you keep your phone in the same pocket as your keys, then you definitely need a screen protector. Your Droid phone was LUCKY.

I would invest in a glass screen protector from Zagg.

You scratched Gorilla Glass? How? I've never seen a scratch on a Samsung phone before.

A $700 phone is worth a $30 screen protector. If these are from keys, you must have had quite a bit of pressure on them to scratch this glass

too late for screen protector now, its not that i didnt want to pay for the protector i just didnt expect it to scratch because my droid never scratched

is there anything i can use to get them out?

I don't think the S5 is too great in this department, I've had load's of phone's before, I never use screen protectors and the phone never has anything in my pocket with it but I have also noticed slight scratches on mine, again they are only visible in bright sunlight

I've seen some screen polishing liquids on youtube. But they remove the Oleophobic coating. Maybe try one of them out on an old practice screen, then get a glass screen protector with Oleophobic coating on it.

Try toothpaste. Get a rag a little wet, put a dab of toothpaste on it and rub on in a circular fashion. Let dry and than remove.

What do you do with your phone that you have scratches? I haven't used a screen protector in 7 years and that last phone that got a scratch was an iPhone 4.

Is it really the screen that is scratched or is it the oliophobic coating... Or whatever it is called. Someone mentioned it in another post, with the same seen in sunlight detail, and found that it wasn't the glass, but the coating.

As for OP I wonder if QC isn't what it used to be. It could be just dumb luck.

I read toothpaste work do you have an electric toothbrush that acts as a polisher. :)

My first s5 also had a scratch on it (I ended up exchanging) after just 2 days and I'm being freakishly careful with it until I could get protector on it, but sure enough best buy guy said it already had one when he was putting screen protector on for me. So I totally believe you!

yeah toothpaste didnt work, sucks
in no way at all can you FEEL the scratches...they are very light but they are everywhere.....ahh so aggrivating

Re: Anyway to get scratches out of the screen? i thought these screens were good?

Not trying to sound harsh but why would anyone put there phone with a big piece of glass on it in their pocket with keys and change???? That doesn't sound like trying to be careful. You gamble not using a screen protector.

I kept my evo in my pocket with keys and change and it never scratched it but I belive stone/sand will.
