Anyway to hide pictures?

I have to see them to be able to let you know the best way to hide them. :D

Just drop a file called ".nomedia" into the directory with the pics you want hidden (or music files, or whatever.) That pretty much does it - you can still get there with Astro but none of the default Android apps will see the media files.

I know I'm late but the period in front of the file name worked just fine via astro. ...... and it was one of the first answers. ........... send em to me. .........lmao

Samsung Galaxy S "Vibrant" with T Mobile. Both the phone and Windows won't let you name a folder ". anything" so this doesn't work. It says "you must type a file name". Here is what I did and for now it works. I named the folder "app_whatever" and Galaxy still scanned and found it. So, I tried making a copy of the ".thumbnails" folder and it wouldn't let me alter the name to "." something else. Soooo, I put my "app_whatever" into the ".thumbnails" folder and PRESTO!!! it doesn't show. The only thing is that it is an invisible folder (maybe even better, lol). I have to go to Settings and check for it to see hidden folders and it will show up. Keeps those un-kid friendly pics hidden for now. Wish it was a bit easier, but still not too bad. I just have to go to Files and then select to show the hidden folders and it is accessible. Anyone else have a better way to hide your "stash"?

Ok, I got the .folder created but now I can't figure out how to move pics from downloads to the new folder. I can see the folder in Astro but can't move the image. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Help? Thx.

I grabbed Photovault...has a free version for 4-5 pix so you can see that it works, and a buck or two for unlimited. Very easy to use. Just remember ONE THING: You MUST repeat MUST use the Back key to exit, and not the home button. Back ends it. Home keeps it running, so the next person can open it right up!

you can send the pictures too me and ill keep them safe for you that way you can delete them from your own phone with out having any worries about someone else seeing them... hahaha no seriously i use vaulty myself and it works great

Kii Safe

I like Kii Safe... it's a bit new. No Ads is my thing... I hate seeing ads in my own private pictures.

I'm not sure I posted in this thread or not (OK, I'm too lazy to look back), but look for Audio Manager in the Market. The name itself should give you a clue as to how sneaky the program is. It has nothing to do with audio, and a person has to do something even sneakier to access private "stuff". Personally, I don't want a program that suggests to others that there is a private section to begin with. With this program, a person wouldn't even know private stuff is there, let alone know how to access it.
