AOD or not to use AOD

Should we use AOD? (Always on Display)

Same. I like just being able to glance over without picking the phone up and pressing the power button.
Yeah it's really one of the best features on this phone and it winds up saving you battery life. There is no reason not to use it

I also really love the double-tap-to-wake feature. I really loved that on my G3 and am glad Google implemented it for the Pixel 2 line.

My Note 8 is the first phone I've had with AOD, and I really like it. It's very handy to see the time, day, date and, of course, texts, emails other notifications at a glance. If you double-tap, say, on the text icon and swipe the screen behind AOD it opens the text (email, whatever) for quicker viewing than the more traditional way. Plus I know when things hit if I happen to miss my sound notification for some reason. In checking the battery usage, AOD draws very little power. As far as burn-in, the AOD display is always moving around on the screen (maybe just a few pixels difference from where it was previously) so that burn-in will not be an issue with AOD.
I'm assuming my device had some form of issue with AOD.
Burn in happened quickly with mine.
Brightness was set 1 up from the lowest setting.
I've already seen other people complaining about it.
So contrary to your comment... Burn in CAN be an issue for some.

AOD should not cause any burn in. The display moves around to prevent burn in; you can actually tell as sometimes it will be closer to the top and other times more towards the middle.
Not always.

Resurrecting this thread.

I've had AOD turned off for about 2 days. And just using LED indicator (to notify me with notifications...)

I can't do it guys! Even if it takes 1% - 2% Every hour... lol. I want to save battery... but... I like the AOD.
