Some of you may or may not know me, but I have been a lurker on Android Central for some time. Just recently I posted some files about the Bionic relating to the Training Material that Verizon was pushing around to get there reps to know about the Bionic. However I am wanting to ask everyone who took a look at it to forget about it completely and delete any copies you might of made and re-uploaded. I am asking this because I just lost my job with Verizon over this issue even though I was trying to inform the masses about the Bionic where most of the information was already known but there was still a lot of confusion since everyone was saying different things. I am also informing you that a senior member of the security department got in touch with me and we had a nice long chat where we made it clear that it was not done for any bad reasons. Now keeping this in mind Verizon will probably be going around to get all this information pulled down, so please be careful.

Company policies don't always coincide with common sense, and in my opinion, especially not on issues like this. IP is a double-edged sword.

Gives me another reason to axe Verizon. Last year I let them talk me out of a one year contract because I was told I could get a new phone 'every year.' Which turned out to be a lie. Since my company gets an AT&T discount perhaps I'll find them a more reliable business to deal with. Axing someone for the reason you specify in this economy is low.

I do have to specify that it was not Verizon who "axed" me, I was technically a Indirect Agent. However I was treated by my company as Verizon would of treated one of there Reps. I should of never published the information since it was private Verizon Material. However at the same time I couldn't just talk about it since no one would of believed me.
It was posted originally and I reported it myself to get it removed. I was wanting to inform people to be safe and not re-publish the information.
Exactly. I sucks to lose your job over this but the deed is all ready done. F'em. Beside it all on the internet spread like a disease. Hell, i have a copy on my hard drive. Almost makes me want to spread it around even more for firing you.
Please don't do that, not only would Verizon try and get it taken down it might also give Verizon enough reason to actually file a lawsuit against me.
I am sorry you lost your job, but technically you did this to yourself. Information given before it is actually released to the public is not to be released. You broke corporate rules even though you worked for an indirect. I used to sell for an indirect as well and we were told from the beginning any information we receive in training or changes in plans, etc PRIOR to release dates is to be kept quiet. Things can change at a moment's notice and nothing is written in stone until it is made public. I know I may sound rude and am sorry for it. I hope you find a job soon. I have been out of work since December and it is very competitive out there. But I hope you learned a valued lesson on your mistake. I have a friend who is a Verizon store manager and he had to let go an employee for giving out information. It isn't ethical and although it seems harmless, it really isn't. Having been a manager job related business information is not given out at anytime.
I'm very sorry you lost your job over this. If it makes Verizon feel any better, I didn't even look at those documents. I saw the thread you created, but never peeked, even once.

This is a prime example of how people get so riled up over a stupid piece of electronics, that one poor guy lost is way of making a living, just to help some strangers get their rocks off on the internet over a phone. Kind of pitiful what a feeding frenzy things have become over the past couple of years when it comes to the introduction of new phones. What's even more sad is half of the people who were excited the day before the device comes out, will be disappointed and angry because the device didn't live up to their lofty expectations and then will blame the carrier, manufacturer, or blogs because of this. Unfortunately this cycle will seem to repeat indefinitely.

Yea someone said they saw the words....proprietary...in it. I was like oh ^$%!). I hope he doesnt get in trouble for this.
Sorry to hear you lost your job. What Jude526 said is absolutely right. I know someone who almost got in serious trouble for something similar. In his case he was trying to help a fellow co worker. Taught him a lesson about confidentiality .

Well I have some good news, I was able to call up the boss from my last job as a Server and was able to get my job back without begging him. I just had to ask him what I should do to re-apply and if I should fill out another application and he just told me that I was always welcome back. The good thing is I generally leave on good terms with this being the only one I haven't.

I fully agree with what Jude says, you did this to yourself. Obviously you did not consider the possible repercussions to your actions. Personally I'm just glad you didn't work for the CIA, etc.
