App optimisation after updating

So I got an update on my international version S6 gold platinum. It was about 70mb in size. After updating I didn't really notice anything different until when my phone gave me a notification or a reminder to optimise the apps I'm not using.

It took me to

Smart manager > battery > optimisation

And there it was, a "Doze" like feature which puts apps to sleep if you want them to. After a certain period of time if left unused.

Here's a screenshot.

I've noticed an improvement in battery life ever since. I put all the apps on optimisation which I don't use much often.

I don't think this is the same as Doze..
If you don't open certain apps for 3 days it "disables" the app entirely and you won't even get notifications until you open the app again..

It's a good feature for some apps, but for apps like Viber it can be a mess..

I realised that not all apps are listed there for optimize. The two main battery sucker on my phone (i.e. Facebook and Instagram) are not listed there.

But overall I think this is a smarter way to improve battery life.

I'm seeing the same screen after updating my S6.
However this screen appears in about 40% of the times I use the phone.

I mean. The phone is on, just when I pick it up and switch on the screen and I get a notification of this 'App'.
This is highly annoying. Am I the only one suffering from this behaviour?

Does anyone know how to switch this off?
I mean I would like optimisation, but not to click away a notification almost every time I use my phone.

I got an update a few days ago and just noticed I have the app optimization...neat. Gonna play around with it and get my battery improving.

Does anyone know what "Disable for" is compared to say powering saving? Most of my apps don't send notifications types of apps so having them always disabled is fine if it saves the battery. What option should I go for? There isn't much of a description in the setting so I'm kinda confused.

Disabled means that the app optimization feature will not touch that particular app; i.e. it will NOT optimize the app. This would make sense for apps that would need to constantly run in the background.

Battery life has improved a lot due to this optimization feature. Can't wait for Doze.

Is there a way of turning off the notification for this? I really don't need to see it pop up everyday to tell me that it's doing it's job. Which is to put apps to sleep and, ironically, so I don't see their annoying notifications.

Thanks in advance.

I don't get any notifications for it.

I was kind of happy to see your post. You seem to suffer from these notifications as I do (like I posted a view days ago). You're the first one to confirm I'm not the only one having this trouble.
Having said that... that's by no means a solution for this problem. I hope someone can figure this out. I haven't found it yet. Although the frequency of the notifications seems to have diminished over the last couple of days.

Do those of you having these notifications, have international versions?

I get the notifications on my local Canadian Rogers S6, but not daily...maybe 3 times since it started.

Update, as far as battery goes I see a huge improvement only on wifi when idle state, otherwise its the same as before.

But you have an international version and not a TMO one, right?

I'm dutch, so I bought my S6 Edge locally in the Netherlands. It's the version that is sold over here.
So I guess that's what you would call an international version.
International is relative I suppose ;-)

The international versions are unlocked Samsung phones that get updates directly from Samsung and are sold by Samsung.

I got it locked through my carrier Rogers in Canada, isn't that domestic NA? Honestly I'm not sure but I'm assuming it's similar to the USA models.

Well then the pop up issue is a Rogers thing most likely. You should try Heads Off in the Play Store. It also stops pop up notifications, see if it stops that notification.
