Hey guys. I am thinking of getting a Nexus 5X but was wondering if you have control over the app permissions in marshmallow? Currently in 5.1 whichever app you download it always has access to microphone, email, contacts, location, etc.

You can control the permissions of any app, but if it wasn't made to work with Marshmallow you can break apps doing it; since they weren't built to work with changeable permissions they might do strange things or force close if you mess with their permission settings.

Yes since version 6.0 , we have full controls for apps permission granting.

it's kind of a pointless feature since most apps won't work if you change the permissions they require, specially third-party free apps.

In marshmallow, you have full control with permission, you can change permissions for each app
