VVM Release dated 11/1/2010

This is the new Visual Voicemail update from Sprint. I have made this flashable for rooted users.

Instructions:
- Before flashing this you need to check /system/app/ and data/app for any files in there named (Sprint_VVM.com.coremobility.app.vnotes-1.apk, com.coremobility.app.vnotes-75.apk, com.coremobility.monkeys.fly.apk,(etc,etc.).
You will need R/W permission to delete it if it's in /system/app/
Delete the apk. using Astro, adb,Root Explorer or whatever.
- Download and flash the attached zip just as you would a ROM EXCEPT do not wipe!!! Just download and flash.

Cool, only times recoverys really matter is when it comes to wiping or flashing. If the person posting a zip doesn't sign it then the end-user can only flash the zip in clockwork.I sign all zips i post cause,i personally like amon more then clockwork.

*This is to you and anyone else that reads this. Before flashing this please check two things before flashing,/system/app/ and data/app.
For any apk that might be voicemail(Sprint_VVM,com.coremobility.app.vnotes-1.apk,com.coremobility.app.vnotes-75.apk,com.coremobility.monkeys.fly.apk,etc,etc.)Remove it,,reboot into recovery, flash zip.
For details on how to remove the old first read the page before this one.Or (root explorer)

Thank you so much, Beezy! It worked! I really appreciate the help :)

Any Noticeable Changes?

All it does is translates your messages into text so you can read them. Basically adding what google voice already has. It's free for 1 month then $1.99 a month thereafter. It does not auto renew so if you like it then you must chose to renew yourself after 30 day trial is up.

EDIT - i will note though that if you dont upgrade to this newer version you will have that nagging icon on top of your screen telling you to update.

Yo Beezy, you beat me to this! After going through this with you the other night, I was going to write a detailed line by line instruction on how to do it. If you want me to, I still can do that.

Feel free to,that would be great and probably help sum people out.

To me - even though the added voice to text service if "free" to try... by making it a mandatory update they're saying "You HAVE TO try what we are offering optional"... which is oxymoronic... or basically moronic.

i can't delete the Sprint_VVM.apk... help

What process you using?

If you do adb then it should be like this.
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app/ (or if its in data)cd /data/app/
rm Sprint_VVM.apk
reboot

no i was using Root explorer, then i tried astro

my attempt was going to be...

delete apk via root explorer or astro

download the file you attached and send it to my phone via bluetooth

install the app

It depends on where it is for Astro. If its in /data/app then astro can delete it.
Root explorer should be able to delete it no matter where it is.Make sure to switch around the permission at the top so you have R/W.
If all them fail to work i would say use adb.
