Just depends what rom you are running in could be in system/app or data/app.
If it's AC-Rom then it's in data/app.

My wife had the stupid notice I couldn't get rid of. Every time I would try to download the update just to get rid of the notice for her I would get an error message. Flashed your zip and finally got rid of the annoying notice. She is running the AC rom and I have the MYN Warm TwoPointTwo RLS3 Beta and I haven't gotten that notice yet. But I am sure it is coming so thank you.

It should just update,if not then delete Sprint_VVM.apk form system/app then you can use this.

I am trying to delete the file, via Linda Manager, but it's saying Sprint_VVM.apk is read only, and won't let me delete it...

You need to have the proper permission to remove a /system/app/. I haven't ised Linda in a ling time if there is a way to switch and have read/write permission then you need to do that then remove.
If not then you either have to use Root Explorer(switch to R/W) from the market or adb commands.
If you have android sdk set up then it's a few commands,
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app/
rm Sprint_VVM.apk
reboot

No problem,glad to helpout.This just helps to learn anything in /data/app/ can be removed without permission just anything in /system/app/ you have to have permission to remove.

Beezy, I downloaded Root Explorer.

Not too sure where to go from here. Still giving me the same read only message. When I switch to R/W it doesn't give me the Sprint_VVM.apk.

It was something on there end. My voicemails weren't being saved, so there were always zero voice mails even when I left one myself. I called Sprint, they reset the system twice, no dice. So I just use google voice now.
