I perused the play store looking for an app that will notify me whenever I connect to a specific wifi network but didn't have any luck. Does anyone know of such an app?

and in case anyone curious why I'm looking for this functionality
- i'm on a wifi only plan with my carrier
- my work has a wifi network but it requires me to provide login credentials before it is useable, so I'll be connected to their wifi network but I often forget to login to make it useable.

Hope that makes sense and thanks for your time

I think Tasker might be able to help. It is a paid app, but I think you can set it up by location to connect to your work WiFi.

Thanks for the reply, guys. As my handle might indicate I should add I'm looking for a free solution! I will look into the IFTTT solution but any further insight from others would also be greatly appreciated.

It's amazing there's no free apps that can do this simple task.

I briefly looked into IFTTT but looks like it's iOS centric. Even so I'm not sure how to go about giving it a trigger for when a specific wifi network is connected or if it's possible.

Not aware of a free solution. Tasker should do it, but it does cost.

FWIW, while the price may be a bit high, the app can do just about anything. You're only real limits are your imagination, and ability to figure out how to do what you want. The app's wiki, and xda page can help with the second part. Check out some of the cool stuff folks do with it on youtube.

Good luck!
