app to remove pin lock

I have to use a pin lock on my lock screen for work emails. If I remove the pin it removes my email accnt.

I tried using tasker to disable the pin code use during certain time intervals/places but to no avail.

Is there a "functioning" 3rd party lockscreen app to "store" the pin code maybe? I tried swipelock but it would only work once. After I hit the power button to lock the screen and attempt to unlock the phone I would swipe the "unlock" and then it would ask for my pin again. This app seemed to be a start in the right direction but not fully there yet.

Any other suggestions would be great! OR if someone has a tasker input to try, I'm willing to go that route again as well.
I know if I can get the elimination of the required Pin I could do a lot more with tasker and widgets too

I wouldn't try to circumvent the policies that allow you to access your work emails on your own device.

I use an app like Touchdown to keep work and personal separate.

I do keep them separate but it would be nice to eliminate the use of constant entering the pin code every time I need to use the phone.

I already talked to my boss about it and he basically said "if you find an app, tell me, I'd like to use it too" haha

taking anything that may be "unethical" out of it...anything like swipelock but one that constantly works would be key

You could try skip lock[/B by ben hirashima]...it has a 4 day free trial. I don't know if will do what you want but it works for me...you cann set it up to bypas lock screen on bluetooth or wifi etc...So you could set it to bypass lockscreen when on home wifi or work wifi or connected to bluetooth in your car. It has worked great for me so far, so I purchased it after the trial. Just make sure you read the instructions as you can only disable or reset the passsword thru the app settings once it is in use...DON"T use the phone settings. I am not the most tech savy and found this app extremely easy to use and set up...hope it works. Give the free trial a shot when you know you will be at work and can add thet wifi etc there as well as at home.
I was couriousl if I could still use wifi at locations even tho I had the phone set to only use unlock when at home or work and I am able to access other wifis but phone will lock after time out as it is supposed to.

Yes I agree! It's not like our emails are all that private! They want every person that has the work email to have a pin required as well as sign a piece of paper stating that if you lose your phone they have the right to wipe the entire device at their discretion....a little extreme I believe as well.

I just would like to use my s-voice/google now and widgets as I like on my own phone. I'd totally understand if it was a work phone...

That's how most, if not all, are set up - at least if the company actually cares about security.

The security policy would only apply to Touchdown. If required, the PIN lock would only be used for Touchdown - not the entire device. If your company IT needed to do a wipe, they only have access to wipe Touchdown, not your entire phone.

Feel free to provide me with a company phone and i will answer emails after hours and calls after hours if necessary. Otherwise if i have to use company email on my personal device its at my discretion. I worked there 5 years and was lead tech. This was the first 6 months i was there.. A few weeks later the owner tried to get a hold of me and couldnt after hours. I had a nice new shiny company phone the following week. I have no problem doing stuff after hours to help my self or company but its at my time, if you feel it needs to be a higher priority give me a company phone and pay for it.

And that's fine. If you want to go ahead and use a web version to access work email, that's no problem. If you want to start using native clients to keep things synced, you have to agree to the terms and policies that the company's IT group sets.

If the company is not paying for the device and/or any plans needed, then your work email doesn't need to be on your personal phone.

Thanks! I'll ditch the internal exchange email app and give TD a try...Skiplock was useless as it said it couldn't run because another app was blocking it, but it didn't say which app. Oh well...TD will hopefully enable me exactly what I need!

If your company is not using TD, then I think your company is using mobile iron, so the only why to remove the lock is to remove mobile iron which will remove your email account.

I work in IT and our company requires Android and iPhone's users to install this to be able to use the company email. There is no third party app to get around mobile iron.

No. The person you were quoting assumed that because his company opperates in a certain fasion, other copmanies would opperate in an identical way. Unless your company utilizes a special app on your phone (like Mobile Iron) to enforce security, Touchdown will work. It is most likely that your company uses Exchange's built in device policy abilities to enforce security and these are exactly what TouchDown was made to work with.

That's exactly the case...they just enforce the pin security is all.

Then TouchDown will work great for you. Its a bit expensive, BUT it will remove the PIN lock and remove the company's ability to wipe your entire device. Instead, you will have to enter a PIN to open TouchDown and if your company issues the wipe command, only TouchDown's contents will be wiped. Worth the price IMO.

We have it at my work to. Employers do this so if you lose your phone someone can't just unlock your phone and have access to your email which can have potential customer information, sensitive company information, etc.
