Here is a kicker, I have a ASUS PC that is about 2,000.00 into basics. I have upgraded the PS, and Sound system, the keyboard, and monitor. Put in several LED fans to create a dust vacuum, and guess what? Those stinking built in Intel video chips have been abused for 3 and 1/2 years without a hitch. The cheaper, the better? Get real.

If by trackpad, you mean mousepad, I think you'll find a little searching will show you that the same company that makes them for Apple makes the same hardware for use in PCs as well,

LOL, yeah i said they are the two kings,,,,They are pretty much the only two.

But saying the macbook is faster is strange as it uses the same components
PC,s use. And no other CPU maker on the planet is faster or more powerful
than Intel or AMD. If Intel was to jump both feet in the smartphone market like they do
in the PC market they would blow away Qualcomm, Exynos. and all others.

Hardware geeks are kind of yesterdays news, they all are lame. Back in the day, that crap was cool, but now software optimization is really what is going on. Most people on AC don't even acknowledge hardware folks. They don't even buy into hardware analytic programs? I know, I am not there, and will never be, but for the most part, software trumps hardware every day of the week yes? If it is optimized...

Just for the record, I agree with you, Intel graphics suck, manufacturers use them because they are cheap and easy on the battery.

And the AMD Radeon 7790 is the undisputed most powerfull commercial GPU in the world. I have one ATM, looking to get another one in crossfire as soon as the model I want is back in stock on newegg.

Most people who don't care at all about hardware don't spend time on smartphone message boards of a site that posts Android news, about 50+ percent of which is hardware related. And software optimization is important, I installed Windows 8 on my mom's 9 year old PC and it runs smooth as butter. But there are numerous tasks that perform better on better hardware, particularly web browsing, HD video and decoding and gaming. And people do care about gaming, that's why it's a multi-billion dollar industry.

Agreed as Johnly said. Optimization is the key to fully utilizing hardware.
Apple, Android, Microsoft. Software and program designers making
programs or games for instance need to do the best they can so the user gets the most
out of the hardware.

If a certain GPU is OpenGL based it should get OpenGL based software
and not Direct3D software. I like the fact most all phones (not apple) finally
went to the universal micro USB port for charging and data transfer.

Hopefully it continues on the more unified path. Its just better for us the consumer.

I received my galaxy note (extra) battery today that i ordered
from shop android.com.

It is a samsung battery, but in an LG plastic case. LOL.
Even says "LG Original Accessories"

Smart man, and I know this to be true. I picked up a part time job selling appliances, and believe me, Kenmore could be LG, GE or anything, and visa verse.

ICS went a long way toward optimizing the software for the hardware, but more needs to be done.

It shouldn't take quad-core and high-end dual-core to have a smooth experience on an Android phone. It shouldn't take 2gb of RAM.

That's what Apple gets. They build the software to take advantage of every last ounce of the hardware it's running on.

Gaming consoles are a menace to gaming. For one thing, games look WAY better on the PC than on their console counterparts. And what's worse is they hold back gaming development. Game companies have to create engines that function on consoles as well to appeal to a larger audience. If they created games that fully utilised modern PC hardware it would would be like a watching movie it would blow you away.

And I gots me great software, good sir. Dual boot Windows 7 and Custom Suse Linux.

Like I say, I have a 3 and 1/2 year old ASUS with stock Intel chips...here is the kicker, I blast the latest games.....and when I choke (one year from now) I will finally use that express slot. Dude, that will be almost half a decade? Software geeks verse hardware geeks? who wins?
