I agree with the rest of you.. Having owned an iPhone for almost 4 years now and needing to have it replaced no less than FIVE times in 18 mos, I'm done with Apple. This is the final straw and I agree that they are obviously intimidated by the GS3 and how quickly Sammy got it to market.. The same holds true for HTC's devices.. This is total and utter BS..

I hope Sammy's law team rips Apple a new a**h*le! Go get 'em!!

GROW UP!!! Hope Steve Jobs is rotting in hell.
Wow, really? No offense, but you are an idiot.

As far as this whole issue goes, yeah the patent wars are getting tiresome. Never owned an iphone, and I am Android for life, but think about it for a minute. Apple revolutionized the cellphone industry with the iphone, and everyone else has been struggling to catch up ever since. Has anyone ever considered that maybe the reason Apple is dragging all these companies to court is because maybe they are guilty?
Hell, the entire Android system can be attributed to Apple, ironically enough. Don't know what I'm talking about? Do a little research on how Android got started.

exactly. they're just defending themselves against companies who likely knowingly infringed on their patents and going 'thermonuclear' on them for doing so. Think I ran across an article somewhere showing Androids original plan pretty much replicating BB and Windows Mobile...then the iphone came out. EDIT- http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/25/2974676/this-was-the-original-google-phone-presented-in-2006

Apple, Samsung, Motorola they all file these suits against each other.

Hate em love em crucify em but it's business for them and nothing else. None of these companies give a spit about us beyond if we buy their product.

Apple could care less if your phone was held up in customs just like any other company could care less about apple customers if one of their injunctions is approved.

As much as people might hate it they are all in it for the money and will do whatever they feel is necessary to make money. Like it or not think it's fair or not the bottom line is the all mighty dollar.

It is all about the almighty dollar. And please believe I am die-hard Android forever. But just because I hate the limitations Apple sets on its products, doesn't mean I don't respect Apple and the innovations that they implemented to usher in the modern smartphone era. They didn't become the most valuable company in the world for no reason.
That being said, F&@# Apple. lol

p. s. For the record, I think that up until recently, Samsung phones have been junk. The Galaxy Nexus, and now the S3 may be starting to change that, but we will see. Moto/HTC 4eva

...

That's true but why do we have legislation that lets them do this? I say laws should protect implementations for up to 5 or 10 years at most, and provide no protection for pure ideas. There'd be less bull lawsuits if there were no legal grounds. The law is falling behind the rate of progress in technology, IMO.

If you look at pharma industry instead, 20 years patent protection is too little, so pharma companies are taking huge losses because they can't pay off all the 10-15 years of research and clinical testing that goes into a product. At the same time electronics companies get a 20 year patent on an idea that takes two weeks to write up.

nah..........Samsung has already stated publicly that they intend to go forward with shipping the SGSIII as scheduled despite the June 7 court battle w/ Apple: whoever pre-ordered one will receive it from 2 - 5 business days after shipped.

Everybody knows that IBM invented the touch screen forever ago, interesting how an invention can become the licensing property of an entirely different corporation.

Strange fruit this.
