Actually, a smart watch really needs to be water proof. There are too many times when you might put your hands in water and forget to take the watch off first.
Personally, I don't think I'd have a problem. It'd probably be as likely as me leaving my phone in my pants when I put them in the wash. Plus, the only other watch I've had in the past wasn't waterproof either. Still, for the price they're asking, it would have been nice.
