Apps moved to SD card have greyed out icons in APP DRAWER only.

I switched over all my data and apps, moved the movable apps to my SD card. Everything functions fine, but the apps moved to the SD card are showing a grayed out icon IN THE APP DRAWER ONLY. They launch fine from the home screen (and have a normal icon) and also launch form the gray icon in the app drawer, but I can't seem to get the regular icon back. Also, if I move one of the gray icons TO the home screen, it stays grayed out. Any ideas? I tried unmounting and remounting the SD, which did nothing. Help!

Samsung S7, 128GB Sandisk SD card, Android 8.0.0, Verizon.

I am having the same issue on my Note 8. Wiping the cache partition per the above did not work. I have also tried unmounting/remounting the SD card, moving apps back to phone storage & then back to SD card again... nothing works. PLEASE HELP!!!

(Note 8 wiht 128 GB Sandisk SD card, Android 8.0.0

Not sure if this will do anything, but if you don't mind setting your homescreens back up again, try going to Settings>Apps, tapping Menu>Show System, and selecting the launcher (I think it's called Samsung Experience?), and clearing its cache and data.
