I recently started a new job where I have to use apps while on the job and I also need to be making phones calls. My problem is, when I'm making a phone call my apps will not receive or send information while making the phone call. Is there a way to fix this or is it part of the Galaxy S4? My phone works perfect and I hope there is a fix for this as I really don't want to buy a new phone. Thanks for any help on this issue.

The only way you could have talk and data at the same time on that phone would be if you had Wi-Fi access for data. Otherwise you will have to upgrade the phone to something capable of VoLTE, which sends voice calls as traditional data (similar to something like Skype), so the mobile data stream isn't interrupted when a call is made.

Eventually you'll have to upgrade that phone is running on very very old android and things are going start being non compatible such as apps and others stuff.. who's your carrier?

Thank you for the information!

I called Boost Mobile (my carrier) and told them I needed a phone that would allow me to use apps while I'm making a phone call and the person told me it's a Boost Mobile deal and no matter what phone I use, the apps won't send and receive while I'm making a phone call unless I'm connected to Wi-Fi.

I haven't dealt with Boost Mobile, but sounds like they are way behind the times. Looking around online, this seems to be a complaint going back for years. I guess if they haven't modernized by this point, I wouldn't expect them to and would consider moving to another network.

Yes, after I talked to the guy at the Boost Mobile store I called Boost Mobile Customer support and told them I wanted my phone unlocked so I could take the phone to a different carrier because they didn't offer VoLTE and I needed it with my new job. They said my phone will be unlocked in 2 days and I will receive an email when it's done. Soon as I get the email I'm going to Cricket Wireless as my carrier. Thanks for the help on this, very much appreciated.
