Hello, ill be getting this phone when it comes out on Virgin, and was wondering roughly what percentage of apps can be stored on sd card with 2.2. I've read about the small amount of space on this phone so I'm just curious. And no I do not plan on rooting. Just Launcher Pro.

Depends on the apps. I have probably 90% of my apps on the SD card. Some older apps just wont go.

I am about 5 days into my new Evo. I came from a Pre with essentially no removable storage so forgive me if these questions are dumb:

When downloading Apps, is there an option to save to SD card rather than internal phone memory? I have downloaded about 15 apps and all have gone to internal phone memory.

When going into apps manager I can see what is downloaded on internal memory but the 'move to SD' is greyed out. Will it always require some kind of thrid party app like apps2sd to move apps? Or do some allow the phone's app manager to move?

My guess is that right now is the best time to change the SD card out for a larger capacity card, right? I have no apps running on the original card and have not placed anyhting on SD storage that i know of.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

i'm sure you will find much better information in the evo section than you will in the lg optimus s section.

but to answer your question, there are other apps that can move apps to the sdcard even when android grays out the option. titanium backup is one of the apps that can move it.

Thanks for the inflo and sorry about the crosspost. I though I was posting to the right forum after the suggestion came up- when starting a new post. less on learned :-)

Also if you go into settings/applications/manage applications you can move apps from there too.

ApptoSD is good free app that will prompt you when you download an app that can go to the SD card. It also shortcuts you to the interface to move the apps.
