April update 2016

Based on today, it seems battery is back to where it was before the March update. Both active and standby battery life seems better.

Reassuring to hear. This is the blessing and curse of being the first device to update I suppose lol...

Flashing images does wipe your data - what is you want to do is get the OTA file (the poster below you is asking for that).

No not really. If you edit the batch file and remove -W from it, it will keep all your data intact. That was still valid till i last checked.

For those of you who want to be able to flash etc, grab the nexus root toolkit. It takes all the work out of flashing stuff, unlocking, downgrading, restoring from dead etc.

Fastboot flashing DOES NOT wipe your data! I have done this following this guide post #9 [GUIDE] Unlock/Root/Flash for Nexus 6P | Huawei Nexus 6P and have never lost any data at all. If you want to do a "clean install" and wipe your data you can do that by using: fastboot format userdata.
Side note, DO NOT USE THE FALSH ALL.BAT! if you do, it will flash the user data img. This is fine if you have the 32 gig variant. If you have the 64 or 128 like I do, it will put your internal memory to 32 gigs. Just sayin.

Let's hope this continues. Let us know in a few days how the batterylife is. I got my update yesterday but can't say anything about the battery yet.

April update seems to have fixed all my Bluetooth issues that were introduced with IIRC the December update. Connection in my car is now stable, no longer disconnecting every few minutes. Hope the same is true for my earpiece (Moto Hint).

I got the OTA yesterday at 5pm. Battery life today has been absolutely horrible, and I hope this doesn't persist. I'm at 1h50m of SOT and I'm at 56% battery (unplugged at 7am) with the same exact usage as before the update. I'd be normally at 70% at this point.

It's worth giving it some time before passing final judgment from what I hear... hopefully it will settle into its old performance levels for you. Out of curiosity did you do a cache partition wipe?

Indeed, I'll give it time for the dust to settle. It's just I've never seen an OTA impact battery life dramatically the following day. No, I haven't done a cache partition wipe.

I'll give it a few more days and I also cleared cache partition but this is just absolutely awful! At 21% and barely over 2.5 SOT! That's absolutely pitiful especially when I had Battery Saver most of the time on throughout this day because of how terrible battery life has been since the March Update!

That didn't work. Had the same problem. However, the OTA update showed up yesterday so I took it that way. Now u have a few weeks to figure out what is going on before the May update is released.

Mine seems to be close to the same. Marginally better if anything. Definitely not the same pre March.

Little experiment this week. Ordered a 5x should be here Friday. Will switch to that device and am going to flash the MM preview on the 6p and see how it compares. Can't be using a preview on my daily, not gonna happen. Using Project Fi so it could be Fi.

I want to be sure that I'm on the most recent update. I did get an OTA update yesterday, but the battery life is awful and has basically made the phone unusable. This is actually the first update I've received, so I'm suspecting that I'm actually not on the April update. I can see the new style of emoji, but the completely new ones in the blog aren't here, and I can't change any skin tones. Here's a screenshot:

This topic is referring to the Marshmallow update for April 2016, not the Android N preview. I'm not sure if N has had the update yet or not, but the Marshmallow update has been rolling out.

*facepalm* How on Earth did I miss that? Thanks for the clarification.
