Just saw where archos is going to be releasing a 10.1 inch tablet running android 2.2 upon release...my question is with this one and really any other tablet running 2.2 will i be able to pull up my powerpoint presentation on the tablet and use it... mostly i use an s-video cord to connect my computer to a t.v. for the presentations, would i be able to take a usb to s-video hub and do the same thing....thanks in andvance

These things are looking too nice...full size USB and HDMI.
I'm not sure about PPT as of yet.
I'd like to see one of these with external DVD burner drivers. It looks like you can plug in an external HDD now?
I didn't see anywhere on their site if it's a resistive or capacitive screen?

Ah....well they are very tempting. Archos has never really been...sexy, but these are looking very nice. Will have to see what happens when these Samsung Tabs hit.

Worth trying. knowing that the Aldiko ebook reader works well and imports epub format, this is more appealing to me than a Kindle or iPad.
And, sine I'm not tied into the Samsung Captivate anymore, I can afford this for half the cost that having a new phone would cost me this year alone!

I'm checking it out and it looks very appealing I think km going to take the plunge in the next couple weeks. Ive been looking for something to lounge around the house with that's not my poor vibrant, which never gets put down
they aren't yet. The 7" is for sale direct from Archos for $256 shipped which is the way I went. It's the Archos 70.

Archos.com posted on their Facebook page that they are being released on the 18th. Take this with a grain of salt because they keep changing the date. I signed up for a pre-order for one on September 21st and have been told the following dates from J&R: 10/15, 11/1, 11/8, 11/12 and today they assured they would be getting them on the 18th or 19th for delivery in about 4-5 days.....I will probably cancel my pre-order if I can get it directly through Archos.com on the 18th since I live in Colorado and that is where their US distribution is located. I'll follow-up here if I am able to order one on the 18th - doubtful though.
Do you think it's going to be better than the samsung galaxy tab?

Cheaper and larger - I am not sure about better. I played with a Tab last night at BestBuy and it was really nice but the price wasn't (Sprint was $399 with a $30/month contract and Verizon looked like it was $599 with a $20/month contract, yikes!)...
I am willing to take a slight hit on performance (if there is any) for the huge price difference and larger screen. I realized that after playing with the Tab that I really want a 10" screen. I think it will be better to browse, play games and read books with. I thought a 10" tablet would get to be too heavy to read a book but I did a little research and comparison: The Archos 101 is 480 grams (1.058 lbs) and the iPad is .73kg (1.6 lbs). The iPad was pretty comfortable so I imagine that the Archos will be even better in that aspect.
The 18th can't come fast enough and it so happens that the 18th is my b'day too.
