Are Capacitive Button Sensitivities Adjustable?

sorry, trying to read all the threads, must have missed it... carry on :)

lol, good times :)

In response to someone before, I also noticed that nobody has had issues with the buttons while doing video reviews. The only people complaining about it are ones without video cameras, I guess.

Phil hinted in the threads here that his review unit isn't all that responsive. Guess we'll see what he means when the full review is posted.

Until now... YouTube - Detailed Software Review of the Sprint Samsung Epic 4G

The buttons are borderline awful, and even though he set them to remain on continuously with the screen, they were often unresponsive. I also noticed somewhat of a flickering backlight on the left button.

Looks like A. Noah has magic fingers or B. Samsung killed the buttons with a software update (is that even possible?)

The more I learn about this phone the less I like it.

You can say that about any piece of hardware. I bought my laptop thinking it would have switchable graphics and USB 3. HP decided that would be too much work, and so they built a half assed version instead, and took a month and a half to get it to me.

And don't even get me started on the pre, or the nokia n800.

The only piece of hardware that has met expectations for me recently was the ipad.

Those capacitive buttons are probably the most used things on the device, and it's imperative that they work well. I'll try it out and see if I can live with it, but I'm pretty picky. :)

The GPS and battery will be a whole other issue.

I tried it on the Captivate. It works, but... you still have to press hard when swiping down. Basically, this is a way of making your finger go across the surface. While it increases how often it registers a press it is still not foolproof or 100%. It still registers much less often than the EVO. That's why I took the Captivate back in large part. I am going to give the Epic a try, but this is my major hangup about the Galaxy S. It can truly drive you crazy.

Guys, are we sure these buttons aren't resistive at this point? :D

Bringing up another thought which has yet to be confirmed: What happens if you press the buttons? Yes, I'm not stupid, I know they are capacitative, but what if you push on them? I hear of many complaints by TAPPING the buttons, but no one has ever talked about pushing them. Someone on Youtube said that he was having trouble with the Moment buttons, but he got them to work flawlessly by pushing on them like a resistive touchscreen.

You captured my life mantra. If it doesn't work, do it harder :D

Lol! The iPad? Don't get me started on that one. My mom got one and 3 days later, I was already despising how simple and boring it was. Call me crazy, but I like advanced over simple.

Some people like to actually use their devices.

I use my technology, alright, but in order for me to not trash a product, I like to have it advanced! Android's not super advanced, but it is one of a few exceptions. iOS= WAAY too simple (used to be cool, but now it's boring).

I always check out the preferences before I use any program anywhere (applications on the pc, games on my xbox, anything on my phone).

Always.

And every time I do, you know the first thing I click? "Advanced Settings". I don't need any of that Basic namby pamby BS. That's why I hate iOS... and anything Apple in general.

So do I! The problem with a new computer though is when you get that menu with manual IP input and stuff. That's when I say good-bye.
