Are headphones included with the HTC 10? [Varies by region]

Hopefully just the press review units are missing them but the retail ones include them.

I have to say, not getting the headphones will be quite the blow and if/when we get a clear answer on this I might change my mind, or at least hold off. I have my pre-order in but will cancel and wait if I feel the need. Getting the headphones and the $100 off was a big draw.

That's crazy we are getting different responses. HTC need to get on the same page with themselves.

I just did an online chat with HTC and they also confirmed that no ear phones for the US market. I could not get a reason why out of them, only that is the way it is for the US.

If you can pay for a $700 phone, you can afford a pair of $50 ear buds...geesh

I'm not particularly eager to spend extra money and lose out on things that were promised to me. But, if that's your thing then good on ya.

I really don't think that's the point.with htc's current financial situation they are certainly not making things to easy for the consumer.it's not only the ear buds, there's also the charger and cable that might not be included.everything adds up.

I agree .I have more than enough headphone ,ear bud etc. that probally cost more than the phone but the point is what you said promised and not getting them like the chzrger

I don't remember HTC promising anyone anything at all. Show me an ad where they promised you something?
You somehow missed the discussion in this very thread where HTC said on twitter (and replied to specific users here) that it comes with hi-rez headphones. Like this from page 1 of this thread; "I just asked on chat support. I asked if the unlocked HTC 10 preorder will ship with headphones. He said yes, ships with headphones and charger!"

HTC screwed me over on the M7 -- great phone -- but got one with the purple camera.

I want to give them a second chance, and the 10 might just do the trick, but they're not making it easy, particularly for the USA. No 64GB option, most likely no headphones, not offering all color choices. C'mon, HTC. I know you have to make deals with the carriers, and app sponsors et al. but you're not in a position any longer to be charging $699 for a phone that was never going to do better than a bronze medal in the sales contest. Even with the $100 coupon, the phone should have been $499 -- it only costs them $175-$225 to manufacture. The headphones are the least they could do, especially if they're touting the 10's audio capabilities as a differentiator from the G5 or the S7.

End rant.

Last time I checked people who run Twitter aren't in charge of sales. I don't see anyone promising you anything on Twitter. What I read wasn't a promise. In my opinion, a $2,000 laptop doesn't come with speakers or ear buds. So I don't expect that for a $700 phone. If you are upset over a $10 pair of ear buds not being included there is a Walmart you can visit and probably get the same pair HTC provided to reviewers. HTC is in Taiwan and I'm pretty sure their ear buds were probably made in China too. If there is no 3.0 quick charger, go to Amazon and you will probably find one much cheaper than the one HTC may sell you and made by Qualcomm.

Whoah hold down there a minute. Certain things are included in certain market and I think we're trying to figure out what exactly who is getting what be it buying the unlocked version straight from htc or buying it from a carrier.

As far as the head ones are concerned these are the jbl noise cancelling ones.definatley not no 10 dollar Inc. Find me a pair of those for 10 dollars and I'll buy them.these are connected through the USB port.

The charger is another thing if I buy a phone I don't want to have to go out before I get the phone and get a charger. It boils down to cost cutting but for a phone that's going to cost me 900 dollars surely they can include at leat that.

It's not that I can't afford them. It's the fact they were heavily promoting the headphones and saying they were included only to back pedal and say for selected markets. On top of that they gave conflicting information on their social media sites making things even more confusing.

Respectfully, you have been proven incorrect and now you're compounding it and creating unrelated arguments. If a company represents itself in the media then YES, that is part of their sales and marketing team. Please read the thread and you will discover that the things you claim don't exist have already been verified and discussed (which is exactly why HTC posted the apology and correction).

Regarding the rest, I never implied that I was upset. In fact, I said that I have high-end headphones and said I'll probably pre-order anyway, but would have been lured into pre-ordering yesterday if the hi-res phones were included. Again, if you read you'd see that there was discussion of the $100 high-rez phones (not $10 walmart as you are implying) were included.

I'm really not interested in arguing with you for the sake of arguing, especially when you are making no attempt to get the facts correct. Please review the thread and you'll see that everything I've said has been qualified in here.

[TIP]Lets keep the discussion civil please. If there is a problem with a post then please report it so the Mod team can take a look, attempting to resolve it yourself is not advisable.
Thanks.[/TIP]

I think as a few people have stated, that wasn't really the point. It was the confusion around if the headphones would be included or not. Personally, I thought that HTC was sweetening the deal for us all by including what appear to be a good set of ear phones.
They aren't and now we all know that. It is down to people know to determine if they want to buy the phone the way it comes in the US.
