Are iPad users bright enough to buy the Xoom?

Been reading online forums and the level of ignorance and stupidity is astounding when reading so-called "reviews" of the Xoom. So much defensiveness to convince themselves that iPad is better. I find the Xoom vastly better - mostly because I can tell Apple to kiss my backside wrt to iTunes and the ridiculous cost to load in content.

For all the yammering about how the iPad costs less (that it doesn't is lost on most people), the real cost of owning any Apple products is being forced to pay to add content. The only cost I have now to get the latest music/video is the $2.99 it cost me to buy the AndTor app - Pirate Bay is my best friend now...:D

So why can't people who have iPads download stuff from the pirate bay also? I know that's what I did with my first iPad. I didn't pay for ****e. Tehparadox with my megaupload account and the pirate bay ftw. Your argument is invalid.

So the argument here is that people who buy the iPad are idiots because they pay for their content rather than stealing it? And people who buy the Xoom are smarter because they're thieves?

Well, count me out of that one. I consider myself intelligent enough to know that it's proper for me to pay for the value I receive.

It is rather unfair to classify people who prefer a device & company with a proven track record for a long lasting functional device vs a new product and new OS. Who are you to judge what a person mental capacity is based on a music playing web browsing gadget. "defensiveness to convince themselves that iPad is better ? This statement is projecting your own uncertainties and jealousy on others many of whom could care less what tablet you have chosen. It’s all about personal preference and this kind of post does nothing to enhance the Xoom or deter the Ipad users. If you buy the just so someone will think more highly of you then you have bigger issues than Android can fix even with a new firmware update.

Owning a Xoom or an iPad doesn't make one more or less intelligent. It's all about assessing your own needs.

The only person who isn't bright on this thread is the OP. You take the meaning of fanboy to a whole new level.

Can someone explain to me how some members on this site get banned for making comments about mods or administrators but when a member insults a whole group of people and speaks about stealing media, it's AOK? Just wondering.

and this is why android will continue to have bad apps compared to Apple. More ppl buy apps on IOS while more ppl steal on android.

Considering Dungeon Defender is reporting it made something like 5 times the amount of money on Android then the ios store without even having in app purchases....and Angry birds is reporting super strong numbers as well while offering their app for free instead of $1+ on ios.

This is a BS excuse imo that devs make so they can half ass their apps without feeling bad. The quality apps are making money while those who don't care to give proper features or even attempt to make a smooth UI are the ones who use this.

Idk how well Gameloft is doing but since a normal person can't even find their games they have reason to fail also.

you're counting 1 app out of the thousands. Also where did you get that data from? We all know IOS has more of a varieity when it comes to games so Dungeon Defenders have way more competition on IOS. I don't know why u brought up Angry birds since that's a free app which of course will have a lot of ppl downloading it. Not trying to attack you but I just keep it real. I don't own an IOS device but my wife does so I get mess around with both Android and IOS.

My bad.....Its 'Pocket Legends'......

The reason I brought up Angry birds is there was an article a while back about them making a million in a month from advertising on Android.

There are only a few examples because I don't often see app companies broadcast their profit margins.

You are right that there is more competition in the app store. But that is sorta my point. There are so few quality apps right now that they can't use that excuse that we didn't perfect our app because Android ppl will just pirate it.

Obviously there is money on the Android market for those who want to properly bring a product the right way. I would be more then happy to pay for apps on Android if they were worth it. I am sure I am not alone on that.
