Are People noticing higher Data Usage with the Note 4?

That's a reason I continue to keep Verizon unlimited data yet (didn't you used to have it?), although I still disable unused things for performance and to help battery life. Otherwise, it's just the nature of what you have to deal with on a tiered data plan if you want to avoid overages.

Yes, unfortunately, i also feel that these phones are indeed functioning exactly as designed... they are designed for those with unlimited data plans... the rest of us have to watch our data.

I'm at 508.3 gb of data usage this month I don't know how to copy my screenshot on here but I still have 1 more week before it resets I'm going for 750gb this month

Go to the battery graph and then data and look at apps there. Click on each app and see if they are running background data. Apps I have disabled, run in the background still. I checked the box to restrict them to WiFi background data only. You can do that with any apps there. They don't use a ton of data, but it can add up.

Like I said before, the facebook app alone used almost half a gig in 4 days (this is just from use at work with no WiFi) before I finally uninstalled it. I don't know what it's doing but I use Facebook via the browser now and its not even close to that. It's possible other apps aren't playing well with lollipop and are sucking data from some background function or something.

That is why I only use v27 Facebook app. That is the last version you can trick into thinking you have messenger installed and do not have to install messenger.

No not porn. I stream and download from show box right now I'm at 560gb. I work from 6 am to 4 in an office at a slow job what else is there to do.

I've seen it all, I'm an original FB beta tester. For the most part, messenger uses the data.

I dunno, I'm using messenger without the FB app installed and I'm no longer getting the data usage. If you make phone calls especially video calls that could use data. I don't use it like that

A lot were using it for their texting app and I think that is where much of the data use came in.

I have a note4 on verizon. I was using about 2GB per month. After the upgrade to android lollipop, my data usage has gone up to 3GB per month. My usage of the phone hasn't changed, and i haven't installed any new apps.
I've noticed that occasionally i see data going over the wifi at the same time as the 4GLTE.
When i contact Verizon support about it, they said it definitely should not be using both. And they would have to get a technician to look deeper into my usage patterns.
So far they haven't gotten back to me, but check your WIFI and 4GLTE on the top and make sure its not sending over both.

Yes, my daughter's Note 4 used 5 GB in a month. Between my iphone 6 and my husband's iphone 6s together, we don't even use 3GB. Not happy with that at all and Verizon can't tell us how to fix it.

If it is because of Microsoft Exchange there is a simple solution.

I got an email from Rackspace the other day, and they have discovered the reason the Samsung phones eat up so much data with Exchange - the built in email app is constantly pinging the servers, resulting in the absurd amount of data used. The solution to this is to use the Microsoft Outlook app from the Play store. Please do the following on all Samsung phones (This does not apply to the iPhones):

1. Delete the email account from the phone.
2. If the Email widget is on one of the screens, delete the widget.
3. Download the Microsoft Outlook app from the Play Store (not the OWA app).
4. Open the app and re-setup the email using the Exchange protocol.
5. Enter email address, click Advanced Option at the bottom of the screen and enter the server info (connect.emailsrvr.com), username (email address), and password.
6. Add the Outlook widget (not the Email widget) back to the screen the email widget was previously on.
