Are Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs replaceable?

Re: Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs not replaceable.

Are they actual OEM Samsung tips? Amazon is full of fake crap.

From all this back and forth in this post is there nobody that has swapped them out, or pull theirs out. One of the trusted people in here like mike dee, someone people will believe pull it out and settle this.
Spacey posted a video showing the replacement

Re: Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs not replaceable.

Video appears to settle this.

From Amazon:
Galaxy S22 Ultra Pen Tip S22U Stylus Tips Replacement Pen Tips Nib with Tweezer for Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G 6.8" Pen Tip Repair SM-S908 Stylus S Pen Tips (No Pen) (Black)

They show a package of five (white or black) for $5.99 including the tool.

Is there a difference between white and black; other than color?

The white tips are plastic, the black are rubber. I find the plastic glides over the screen better, but that's just my opinion

Hey, thanks for that. The video I posted speaks for itself.

I have no idea, but chances are even the OEM from Samsung are not made by Samsung.

Yes, half of what Amazon sells is crap; however, that would mean half of what they sell is not crap. Or are there different levels of crap? Could be; not sure.

And I saw a video of what appeared to me to be a S-pen having it's tip replaced. And it sure looked legit to me. But I'm no expert on the S-pen in the S22U, only having one for four days.

Can't think of a reason a person would post a false video.

But how many posts does someone need under their avatar to be trusted to post factual information?

One way to find out for sure; order the kit and see if your tip pulls out and is replaceable.

Thanks. Plastic should slide better than rubber. Should last longer too, I would assume.

Anyone who frequents this place is typically trusted to post factual information. However if you're referring to the volunteers that are listed as Trusted Members that is something different. It's usually by invitation based on several factors, however we also add members who are interested if they meet the criteria.

I was referring to how many times it goes back and forth of is replaceable or it's not replaceable. In this post there are videos of it not being done and it can be done. I was referencing if someone such as you or mustang showed it being done maybe it would settle the debate, you guys don't mess around.

I tend to believe it can be done, the Jerry rig guy was scraping at it instead of just pulling straight out.

Screw it, I wasn't doing it as I don't have a Spen puller. I used a finger nail trimmer to settle this. I'm not a professional filmer so you get what you get.

Sorry, I can't get the video to load, so you get a still shot of the video.

Here's the answer

Agreed. I think a video of someone replacing it is what we need to see. As I am not sure those here are willing to destroy their s-pens for the cause. lol.
I did a video but can't get it to upload. I put a still picture up showing it. It is replaceable, Jerry rig guy was doing it wrong. He likes to destroy things and that he did he did not show it can't be replaced.

Re: Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs not replaceable.

The official S Pen replacement comes with S Pen tips that I'm sure wouldn't be included if the tips weren't replaceable. And it works just fine..

As far as Amazon goes, you have to find the stuff that is actually from the name branded stores.. I bought this one from the link provided .. it's from the Samsung Amazon store.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU7049190

And if it helps, I chatted with a Samsung tech representative who explained to me how to change the tips ...
As you see, I just did it and answered the question. I didn't have a Spen puller so I didn't want to do it, but I did it with finger nail trimmers and it's removable. Samsung was just cheap and didn't include any in phone. Going after that money

Re: Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs not replaceable.

I never had to replace a nib on my Note20U or my Tab s6.

Paranoia set in when I bought my Note20U & I purchased an extra S-Pen & nibs. Turns out, that was a waste of money. Live & learn.
:)

Re: Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs not replaceable.

So, if it is assumed the S-pen nibs cannot be replaced, from those with experience with S-pens, how long does a nip last under normal use? I mean under designed use on the phone screen. Discounting damage due to the end from picking at something you shouldn't pick at with an S-pen, using it as a regular pen by mistake, etc.

A replacement pen on Samsung is $49.00. Not a bad price if the S-pen is lost, stolen or you used it to pry open a beer bottle and destroyed the tip; however, rather expensive if the nip wears out from normal use a few times a year.

Curious, the S-pen is one reason why I have re-ordered a S22.

I'm guessing the reason they didn't include the tool or any spares is because the vast majority of users never replace them. The only nib I have ever worn out was in the pen for my Tab s4 after around 3 years of use. But with the tablet I do several magnitudes more drawing and annotating with the S-pen compared to my phone. I've never had to replace the nib in any of my Note phones though I upgrade to each new generation so the longest I kept any one phone was around 18 months.

Re: Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs not replaceable.

Still wondering if the Note 20 Ultra S-Pen fits into the S22 Ultra ?

Very good info. And yes Zach {Jerry rig} is noted to destroy items. His first review of an S pen he destroyed that one too.

Re: Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs not replaceable.

Nah, dude, you're the only one that went back while everyone else saw my video and went forth. You practically said I was lying, and have been since the day I said I replaced it. That wasn't good enough, a photo wasn't good enough, and a video wasn't good enough. Would you like me to come by and change yours out for you, or would that still not be enough?

Enjoy your phones, y'all
Here's me agreeing with you

And here's the doubts and back and forth after your video, hence why I was having fun with it. Mostly Jerry rig guy. And of course I'm was being funny about going to best buy.

For the record, I was finding it humorous, hence the go to best buy to find out. The one you took serious and said I wouldn't do that to one I don't own, duh, neither would I.

PS..I wouldn't let you touch my phones, so no I don't need you to do anything.

Yes, enjoy your phones you all.

Re: Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra sPen nibs not replaceable.

I have all the removal tools from my all my Notes. If I ever have the need to replace them out I have the tools and extra tips of that's even possible.
Same here from my Note 20 Ultra.

I was super surprised when I had to replace my Tab S7 nib. I ended up biting some cheap nibs off of Amazon and they worked better than the original .
