Are You Enjoying You Nexus 7?

I like the Nexus 7 alot, but I still find myself using my phone more often. Have nothing but good things to say about the Nexus, I'm just more of a phone guy.

That's why I'm afraid of getting a tablet I feel like my galaxy s3 would just be easier to use. If I did get one I would probably use it to play n64 games.

I feel the same.

All I can say is that since getting my N7, my phone has been pretty much used for nothing but tethering.

I'm loving my nexus, never had a tablet before and I'm finding it great for my commute into work. Triple Town and Great Little War Game are excellent!

Mine isn't seeing a lot of use if I'm honest and will most likely sell it on whilst demand is high.

As someone fairly new to tablets perhaps my expectations of the Nexus 7 in terms of functionality and useability were unrealistically high. Whilst it was entertaining enough for a couple of weeks the novelty factor has worn off and left me feeling a wee bit underwhelmed. I'll stick to my pc for my gaming fix, browsing etc. as mobile use isn't a priority (if it was I'm sure I'd use it a lot more). I haven't really gelled with the OS either.

I should add that this isn't intended as an anti-Nexus 7 / Android post and I'd most likely be feeling the same way about an IOS or Windows based tablet. Really just a case for me personally a tablet isn't the right 'fit'.

And there you have it nailed. If you don't have much mobile use, it's a paperweight. If you have all-access to a power full PC it's always going to lose. But if you're on the go a lot, I think it's the best substitute. Especially since I can play Max Payne 3/Dues X/Mass Effect 3 with slash top when I'm away from my PC. It's basically like having an 8 core desktop with 2 Radeon 7970s in a 7 inch tablet.

I love mine! I sold my Blackberry Playbook and Kindle Fire to help pay for it and I have not regretted the decision. Just the opposite. I love the speech recognition the most. I can quickly dictate email responses with a high degree of accuracy. I was able to access all my music, apps, and e-books from Amazon which was a huge plus since I had an extensive library for my Kindle Fire. The games are great although some of them are a little faster which raised the difficulty level. The automatic on/off case is also a great feature. I am waiting for a docking station/rapid charger to come out.

I'm enjoying my N7 as well. Only "issue" is just the slight screen lift (not a separation). That's just a bezel/fit problem and a non-issue as it doesn't affect usability and is just an annoyance because it's not perfect. Once the devs get more apps for jellybean and for tablets I think it will only get better. A 10" tablet is too big in my opinion as with a 4-5" phone and a 17.3" laptop I wanted something in between and this is perfect.

I use it in my living room and outside/inside around the house as well as when I'm out an about (even though I have a 17.3" laptop). It doesn't replace my phone or laptop. It just merely supplements them and fills that gap in between them. Unlocked & Rooted as soon as I got it. Grabbed a USB to OTG cable and installed stickmount and now external storage, etc. is a go. Use my Sensation 4G for my hotspot and I'm online everywhere when I'm not near wi-fi. :D

Ive had all the ipads and still have the ipad3. Went for the n7 because of the form factor. Practically every app i have on my ipad is available for the n7. I still find myself spending more time with my ipad and still need to learn some things about the n7. But i think its pretty slick. If an ipad mini does come out i might go that route because all my computer gear is apple. The only thing that would make the n7 perfect is a rear facing camera. I just hope the ipad mini has one. In n7/mini size a camera would be perfect for a carry around tablet. I'll bet the n72 will have one as will the next fire. Apple waited for the ipad2 to introduce a rear cam but of lousy quality. The ipad 3 has a decent one. I hope apple doesnt make the same mistake and leave out rear cam when it introduces the mini. If it does i would pass until mini2.

actually I'm not on the go that much and I have a powerful laptop. but I still use the nexus more than a laptop. it's easier to carry from 1 room to another with me. And it's much more comfortable using it to read books or catch up on the news or watch a video in bed.

I love mine. Zero technical issues, and none with software. I use it for just about everything except phone calls and design work. If they ever get the Adobe Apps to now suck, I'll try those for the latter. I have a GNex and an OG Droid, and an Acer A500. I rarely used the A500, even with ICS. The form factor of the N7 is perfect for me, and it's tethered constantly.

As for the magazine issues, I subscribe to several, and I was looking forward to being able to read them on my tablet. But, since they don't yet have an Android App, I can't. They all have an iPad app, which they tout constantly, and they can read their subs on them as well as the hard copies. As the subs lapse, they aren't renewed. When they remove their heads from Apple's keister, I'll reconsider. (I know about the various Android mag readers, but I refuse to pay for something twice, and expecially pay MORE for digital.)

Signed, a Grandpa.

I used to carry a Samsung Player 5 everywhere. It was maybe a little small, but it was way better than a smartphone screen size, batter life was awesome, and it ran everything I needed. But since the 7, it's been lonely at home. The 7 is bigger, but still small enough to carry in a pocket (mostly) and far more powerful and easy to look at. It goes with me to work, meetings, on trips, and is within reach at home at all times. The one thing it doesn't have and which might get me back to iOS when the mini comes out are really good drawing apps - there just aren't any in the same league as on iPad. But unless the mini gets a good display, I will stay with the 7 for every day carry.

An update to my previously voiced concerns:

Next Issue now has an item on their FAQ page that Jellybean support and the Nexus 7 are coming soon. For kicks, I installed the apk on my Transformer (ICS 4.0.3) and it works properly and I was able to download Entertainment Weekly. I didn't try VF yet, but assume it will work; the lack of Wired (iPad only) is still an issue.

Today's Lightning Deal fire sale on Kindle Fire stuff at Amazon indicates new stuff is coming soon. Whether an Android app is in the mix is unknown, though I'm not sanguine.

Absolutely love it. I use it primarily as an e-reader and to browse the internet, news apps, etc. The size, speed, and screen make it perfect in that regard. I've had multiple tablets including an iPad and this is hands down the best, even if you don't factor in the price.

I'm picking up a tablet on black Friday let's see if there is something better by then. But the nexus 7 does look nice except for some of the defects. Unless I'm tempted to get one sooner haha.

Are you enjoying your Nexus 7? Personally, I'm not. I'm not much of a tablet guy in the first place so I don't even really know why I bought it, I mainly use my phone and laptop. Yeah it's a lot of "bang" for your buck but I feel as if is was rushed.

You don't like it but its obviously worth the price you paid or you would have returned it. Makes no sense.
