Are you gonna buy a pixel or the 3 XL

Oh, shoot! I should probably amend my earlier comment about being on monthlies and not being able to upgrade til I pay off my 2XL outright to include this:

-IF- I upgrade my 2XL, it will definitely be to a 3XL.

I mean, don't get me wrong, in a perfect world, where I was a multi-billionaire, and everyone wanted my autograph all the time, I would have a whole fleet of phones, and that fleet would most certainly include the likes of the latest hotness from Apple and Samsung, since there is still a ton I like about them. But here in reality where virtually nobody wants my autograph, and I can only justify having one phone at a time, and have to choose one at the expense of all the other attractive options, there's only one phone on my radar, and that's the 3XL.

So, I will either bite the bullet, and plunk down the money to pay off the 2XL to get it, win the Android Central 3XL sweepstakes, Verizon and Google will make that same deal Verizon and Apple have for yearly eligibility that I will pounce on....or else I will just stick with the still excellent 2XL until it's time for the 4XL.

Unless my circumstances improve so drastically that I can justify having multiple phones, declines so drastically that I can only afford dirt cheapies, something that says "Microsoft Surface" on it that's worth a damn leaves the land of make-believe for the shores of actualization, or until Google either shutters the line, or lands it in the toilet, I'm going to remain #teampixel ! :-)

Your mileage may vary, of course, and I definitely don't think Pixel is the only worthwhile option out there. But it IS the only one........FOR ME. :-)

Cheers!

I may get it later, especially if I have issues with my PH-1. I'm not happy with the price increase and I'm not sold on the AI enhancements, but unless anything closer to a Nexus experiece comes out I will probely get this sometime next year.

From some of the rumours it is the HTC design team making the P4. So hoping it will be a more innovative design next year. It's as if the old Google team decided to just phone it in this year. The P3 is like the 's' iteration on iPhones. An incremental update. Not a fully fledged new design at all. And the P3XL is like some weird P2XL/iPhone X hybrid clone thingy.

A proper upgrade for someone with a 2 year old OG Pixel but not worth it really for a proud 2/2XL owner.

JMHO

Hear a lot of people stating the Pixel 3 XL has gone way up.

I don't understand.
When I went to best buy a month ago and got the Pixel 2 XL 64 gb. It was 849.00

Now at the Google Store the Pixel 3 XL 64 gb is 899.00.
That is a increase of 50.00. Geez...

So my question to you is you want to wait another Year.
Or your undecided on what to do.

Did you even watch the google presentation on the Pixel 3 XL phone on youtube ?
The 845 qualcom processor.
With the Titan security chip, the camera and everything.
Comes with Pie.

Ain't that bad of a price as everybody is making out.

I think there are more complaints about the 3's price increase.

i think you're right, Mike. It's more about the P3 going from $649 to $779. But I think a lot of people don't remember the OG Pixel having 32GB and being priced at $649, Pixel 2 doubling storage to 64GB while keeping the same price of $649 when they could've easily moved up to $699 then.

Looks like more people should walk in Best Buy and look at the 2 pixel phones.

Really.

You say you want the smaller phone.

Till you by get used to the bigger one.

Go hold it in your hand, then make the decision.

I think I may get one for each hand

No, I know I want the smaller one. I had the Nexus 6p, and it wasn't very good for one handed use. Then you have a phone like the 3XL which is around the same physical size, but the screen stretches further towards the top and bottom, meaning you have to stretch your fingers even further to hit what you want. I've had the both iterations of the smaller Pixel and it's just about perfect.

I'm hesitant about the regular 3 only because since the screen stretches further, that it will impact one handed use. I won't know that until I can get one in hand, but that won't happen until it arrives (and before you suggest going to Best Buy, the closest store is 200 miles away from me).

I think the iPhone made the one handed mode the best , swipe screen down and you'd reach everything . I don't like the way Android implemented it .

The regular pixel 3 is fine for 1 handed use, the 3XL is a 2 handed device, unless you have huge hands.
Not all Best Buys have them on display, I went to 3 different stores and 2 of them had them. I went to a Verizon Store and they had them also, the ones at best buy had no connection so you where not able to check them out with videos, the one at the Verizon store did. just FYI.

Yep you're right. Once I added device protection and taxes it was past the $950 mark I believe. And that's for a phone that doesn't even have a QHD screen like the lesser priced Galaxy S9.
