I'm on the Pixel 2 XL and if I were to purchase the Pixel 3 XL, this is what I'd be getting:
+ Wireless charging
- Giant notch
- Smaller battery
- Same ram
- Same storage
- Dual front camera for those 0 selfies I take
- Same single rear camera
- Seemingly no new software features (that we know of)
Very hard sell for me. I'll wait for the full reveal on October 9th, but it's looking pretty dire at the moment. The hardware to me is completely unimoressive, so I'm holding out that some new software will justify the purchase, but even then, the new software features and new camera processing should be able to be ported to the 2 XL.
I think at best I'd consider the Pixel 3, otherwise I'll spend my money elsewhere.
How you liking the Note 9? If I decide not to get the Pixel 3, the Note 9 is the front runner for my money.

I might go with the 3xl as well, but the smaller 3 looks promising too. I just don't want to give up the huge battery from the 3xl.
I had the Pixel 1, have a Pixel 2, like the wireless charging, but will wait to see final launch and prices on phone and charger. (This part is made by my mature adult side.)
My kid side will be ordering a Pixel 3 and charging stand at launch. My mature adult side has not won one battle in 74 years.
ETA - 10/14 - kid side won again - ordered 3XL - stand - case - screen protector.

I got a S7 that is supposed to be unlocked.
But it will only work on At&t that I had told if it would work on Verizon.
I'm gonna get a new pixel from Google that is totally unlocked.

Honestly for me it's going to really depend on the quality of the new screen and camera. I have a 2 and 4 year old and I snap pictures everyday and so far the pixel 2xl by far has been the best camera I've ever used on a smartphone hands down. So yes the new camera is going to have to wow me. If it's just a slight improvement then it's going to be a tough to decide. honestly the notch to me doesn't matter at all as long as I have more screen for the notifications and battery stats etc and room for the front facing cameras along with a front facing firing speakers pls sign me up.
