Are you gonna buy a pixel or the 3 XL

I wear blue jeans.
Presently carry it in my back pocket.
Got a S8+.
Sit on it in the car if I don't take it out.
In have it in a OtterBox defender case.
Have a clip to pop it in and be carry it on my side.
Have another case somewhere to stick it in and clip it on my pants.
Some folks use a Fanny PAC.
Some stick it in the side of a back pack with their computer inside.

I don't pay attention to it.

If their is a will there is away.

But you lose a little screen real estate. Like Lew said Google should have implemented it better to where the status bar icons sit higher up, not lower on the screen. You would think they (Google) could do better.

The retail Verizon store here will not put a pixel on display.
They want you to buy it.
Plus they get a 46.00 programming fee.
Even if you want to program it yourself.
The lady that owns the store is only interested in the money.
Screw the customer.
And one Verizon corporate store 30 miles away wants a 30.00 upgrade fee.

And there are very few nice places to eat where I live.
My Hyundai Sonata gets 35 mpg plus running 75 to 80 going there.

But got a 18 sonata SEL for going everywhere.
22 mpg would hurt.
I like 35 plus mpg.

Where I live a car would be fine except for winter. I had a car previous to this truck, but after spending almost an hour digging it out one year, I decided I was done with having a car for everyday driving. I've got an older one I'm restoring, but like my previous car, it'd be worthless in the winter.

I don't know how Best Buy handles it, perhaps they eat the cost or they have an agreement with Verizon to waive it, but if you go through corporate Verizon stores (not authorized retail partners) you have to deal with it. But in the past Best Buy had their phones priced over the cost of corporate stores, in some cases up to $100 more. Granted that was years ago, but I've never gone back to them since then. If they're still selling their phones for more than cell companies, that fee might be baked into the retail price.

I told them if it takes a monthly service payment.
I do not want service or a phone with them on a new phone.
That all they are doing is pissing me off.
Everybody in the store by will be able to hear me.
Tired if being screwed.

I should if paid more attention when I bought the pixel 2 at Best buy.

Guess when I go tomorrow how much the display be unit on the Pixel 3 XL is on price.

I bought my Pixel 2 XL 128gb at Best Buy in March, when Verizon was offering a $300 billing credit and Best Buy was offering an additional $100 instant discount, so in effect I was able to acquire the device for $400 less than the retail price. (Since we're already on the Verizon family plan, the fact that the billing credit would be spread out over 24 months was not an issue for me.)

The only better deal I ever saw on the P2XL was an ad published by Target, claiming to offer a $200 Target gift card in addition to Verizon's $300 billing credit. But after conducting a lengthy and thorough search, which revealed that there was no 128gb version of the P2XL available in any Target store anywhere in the USA (and the deal was applicable only to in-store purchases), the service reps at Target finally admitted that despite their published ads, Target did not carry or sell the 128gb model.

Our experience purchasing at Best Buy has been completely satisfactory. Each time, the staff has handled the activation, set-up, and transfer of data promptly, professionally, and courteously.

Like I said, this was years ago, and at that time the phone I was looking at was $100 more full retail at Best Buy than it was at Verizon. And at this point, I'd probably trust the employees at BB before Verizon, but if I have to return something or get service, it's easier to do it with Verizon for me.

And a 30.00 upgrade fee. Also non refundable.
And Best Buy wanted 30.00 for trying the phone.
Easy choice for me when I live 50 miles one way to Best Buy.

Till you by get used to the bigger one.

Go hold it in your hand, then make the decision.

So true for me. I wanted the P3. Then I went to Best Buy and checked out the P3 XL. Now I'm kinda leaning towards the XL.
