Seriously, what other device is out there that is comparable?

Stylus
Water resistance
Wireless charging
Memory expansion
Speed
Screen vibrancy
Camera performance

Nothing else is even close.

Exactly. Nothing else comes close. Not even the iPhone 7 with its 2015 technology.

Did Samsung not make the Note 7 the size it is, so people whom want to operate it with one hand can.

Hence the irony. People and reviewers uniformly love the feel and width for the hand, but not as much love for the curve. No curve, no great hand fit. I still wish it was flat since no visual distortion for web pages, or glare issues with the curve in certain view angles.

Problem is the $400 category looks to be increasing their prices. One plus has gotten more expensive every year. Just have to hope the competition down there keeps the prices low, or they start offering more, like a better camera and other bells and whistles.

You caught that huh? It's how it always goes in sales, once the one plus gains ground in the U.S market I'd bet it goes up to $600 by the time the one plus 6 is out.

It happens in all sorts of markets, remember when Hyundai was the "cheap" car? Then they started making solid products, people started buying them and now they are no cheaper then Toyota, Nissan, GM, Ford, Dodge etc...

You can even see with Samsung whom already had expensive flagship phones, have you noticed in the last 2yrs since Samsung went with "premium" hardware builds they have increased in price to where the galaxy S and note series is often more expensive then their direct competition counterpart iPhones.

You realize the Note 7 has 4GB of RAM, right? The LG V20 is rumored to have a 4,000mAh removable battery too. That would be a huge selling point.
The V20annoucment is this evening from San Francisco so all the rumors and whatnot with be a thing of the pass.

The actual specs and phone itself will be for all to see and ....... decide if its for them or not ?!?!

I included sinceI'm very interested in the V20 when just this same time last week had no clue about it and qas immensely enjoying my Note 7.

The only issue for me is LTE signal reception. Seems weakest of any LTE device I have owned. Everything else IMO rocks. Data reception though is a big weight. Thing is I see no device overall as good as the N7. Now, if there was an MXPE 2 with no changes but adding AMOLED, 820, and 3500 battery, maybe... The stereo speakers are sweet. Radio reception much better too.

The V20 sounds very compelling, especially for those who don't "need" an S-Pen.

If (and in my mind this is a big if), you can deal with a major shift in design , not to mention LG's UI.

On the other hand, we're dealing with a large, removable battery, likely first class camera, IR Blaster and about $200 cheaper.

Also, 4GB to 6GB shows minimal if any gain. The code translation layer and cache/memory management regression are much bigger bottlenecks.

The 4000 mah battery would be offset, since SOT is on average 15% less with LCD.

So minus not having Spen, you think V20 beats the Note 7 in most other categories?

I wouldn't say beats. It's an alternative for those who choose not to return to the Note, and a good one. It will test some people's devotion to this device.

I suspect Note lovers won't be swayed. First time owners though, probably will.

No; worse screen, smaller battery, worse software, worse camera, as good as or better audio for headphones, build design and materials are much more to my liking. LG V20 isn't the chosen one either, just like the Note 7 wasn't. They're both good for different reasons (on paper) and whichever one people want is going to depend on their priorities.

v20 vs note 7 i have the following notes so far:

right now it's looking like note wins on screen, camera, software, security, battery size and s-pen while the v20 wins on audio, designed the way matt likes phones, second screen, dual camera mode and not exploding

Just ordered the Oneplus 3 today. The Note 7 is a great phone. However I can't justify paying twice as much when the OP 3 can do pretty much all the same things. Plus the OP3 is super customizable. Good thing this recall happened or I wouldn't have been able to turn in my Note.

Nothing wrong with preferring another phone over Note 7, but just wondering why you bought Note 7 in the first place? Since OP3 was already there when Note 7 was launch?

Started off great with a nice screen, color and audio. Then it just sort of fell flat for me.

I'd stick with my Note. lol
