Are you planning on buying the Vigor/Rezound?

Going to wait and see what the what people think of the phone before i get it. Love HTC and the sense ui.

I'm expecting to pick up the Rezound once the holiday sales start heating up. I have my reservations about the Razr's non-removable battery and am very disappointed that the Nexus won't have removable storage. While I understand the hype surrounding the Nexus I'm just not as impressed with it as I hoped, so I'm giving HTC a chance. I'm also taking into account the fact that statistically HTC on Verizon is the fastest carrier/manufacturer team to put out updates. As a music junkie having integrated Beats Audio and the bundled headphones is extremely attractive. It'll be a welcome change, too. My wife and I both have upgrades in the pocket and she's still trying to get by with her Droid Eris, which has been...underwhelming, even after I rooted and overclocked it. That poor, paste-eating phone is in hospice. I, fortunately, was upgraded from an OG Droid to the DX by Verizon after several warranty replacements and I love my DX, so I'm having an easier time holding out as these handsets hit shelves.

For me, I think it's absolutely certain that I'm switching to Android. LOL

Looking at all 3 devices (RAZR, G-Nex, Rezound), I've been trying to determine whether I could see myself using each of them on a daily basis. Each has strengths and weaknesses and I'm sure we're all aware of what they are.

However, at the end of the day, I've always liked HTC hardware and the Sense UI. I know that this phone will eventually receive ICS (due mostly to its native screen resolution and based on what Duarte said during the G-Nex unveil) and will probably get it via ROM's faster than we might even imagine. The specs are comparable with both the RAZR and G-Nex and quite frankly I like the overall design of the phone better.

- I don't need a razor-thin phone. I want the phone to kind of fill my hand (if that doesn't sound too terrible).
- I don't like plasticky feel (which the G-Nex has been said to have and is almost a confirmation of how Samsung builds their devices...yet again)
- Whether this phone has terrible battery life or not will not be a determining factor as I have access to a charger 95% of the time I'll have the phone with me. If it gets that bad, there's always the 2750mah extended I could buy.

It's a matter of not only familiarity with Sense, but the comfort in knowing something "just works".

- Yes, to some the HTC design is tired and in need of an overhaul.
- Yes, Sense can be buggy and bog down the overall performance of the phone. However, I contend that with the release of Sense 3.5, I seriously doubt that HTC didn't take into consideration the feedback of their customers using Sense 3.0.
- Would you really rather use MotoBlur, even with all its supposed enhancements over Sense?

As additional bonuses, the phone will sport a true HD screen (minus the softkeys of the G-Nex and with higher ppi than the Retina display on the iPhone), Beats Audio (marketing ploy or not it's pretty awesome that it should ship with $100+ headphones) and it will be LTE (unlike some fruity phone that just recently released :) ).

All of these factors contributed into why I will be buying the Rezound on launch day.

The Rezound looks like a really nice phone. I never really liked Sense but other then that it looks great. I will be getting the Nexus when it comes out.

I really don't expect the Rezound to ship with $100 headphones. If they are included expect them to be slightly better then average.

I honestly can't say I'd buy another htc phone. I just don't see what's so special about this phone besides a better processor and screen (now I sound like a evo owner when the tbolt came out lol). My thunderbolt is my first Android device and I love it a lot. I've learned how to root and get all of the fun stuff on here that I otherwise wouldn't be able to with a stock phone. And I love the svdo radio.

But I am bored with sense. It was great at first but now sense 3.0 and lower isn't anything special to me. I do like sense 3.5 though as I was running a htc rhyme port for awhile but even that wasn't all that great besides the new launcher widget. I have recently been using Go Launcher which is pretty awesome btw!

Therefore I'm excited for the Nexus to come out since its pure android. I'll be getting the most latest and greatest updates sooner rather than much later. The device also will be supported well into the future just like previous Nexus phones. I'm also pretty sure I can convince my wife to get the razr. We both like the size and style plus it should be plenty durable! Perfect for her :-)

If the reviews a good I will get it! Not gonna rush out and buy it though, definitely do my homework and see if it will be a good purchase.

No. I am over HTC and their non resizeable widgets that do not refresh until you move to that screen.

Many of the ICS features are their scrollable widgets, home and customize-ability of said homes. I am afraid that HTC will once again leave features out. Just as the screen shut down animation and overscroll highlight. Although HTC has made some attempts at keeping people happy (HTC skins) they have also crippled the US devices. We don't have HTC hub or the ability to download more skins. The whole GB deal to the TBolt pissed me off. How in the world did older devices get it before the TBolt?

This as well as my experience with the Incredible (small ass battery) were one too many.

I'm ready for something that will get immediate software updates and will not be crippled with bloatware. I need a device that I can do whatever the hell I want with. For $300.00 you will have to wait on HTC to release ICS, take all the VZW bloat and wait on s-off if you ever get it.
TBolt never did.

I see this device getting ICS by mid February. When people will be ready for Jelly Bean which the Nexus will also get first.

Gnex FTW. . .specs wise all similar, so it comes down to pure vanilla and ICS. Add to that Samsung's camera, 4.65" screen and the fact that by the time the RAZR and Rezound (really no better name HTC?) get ICS, there will be newer, better specced devices on the market (quad core) with ICS out of the gate. . .so Gnex is it, and the sooner the better. . .

No because the thickness of the device is unacceptable. What are they doing that they can't get it below 13.65 mm with a tiny 1600 mah battery?

I have an Evo 4G which I love, and this just feels like a faster version. I'd never buy this phone and see no reason to - when compared to the SGS2, Nexus and Razr, it loses in everything - battery, screen, size. Its amazing HTC makes a phone almost 2x as thick with a worse screen and battery and expect people to buy it bcause of a stupid gimmick like Beats audio ?!

The only reason to get this is if you're willing to overlook all these flaws and are truly in love with Sense and HTC hardware.

It was either this or the galaxy nexus. But the battery of the rezound is a deal breaker for me.

I'm thinking of getting it, but I haven't been able to find anywhere that's clear that it will support an SDHC card up to 32GB. I've had bad experiences in the past with digital cameras not accepting larger size cards. Any info?

I like the design of the rezound the most, but Despite their pledge of an ICS update, it's going to be covered in sense. Sorry HTC, that alone makes it a no go.

Worse screen? This screen is better than the gnex and the razr. It is better than ANYTHING else on the market, including the iPhone.

The lack of sense.com is on Verizon. Other US HTC devices have it, and at the thunderbolt launch they said it was up to carriers.

Erm. No. By mid February, ICS will still be where it's at. Jelly bean won't even be on the table until next fall. (part of googles pledge to slow their iterations to help manufacturers keep up)

For those HTC haters Im a Samsung hater. The cheap excuse of a phone call the Fascinate turned me off from Samsung forever. The phone was the worst. Cheap plasticy feel, it creaked like crazy in your hand and I had it replaced three times for issues with the hardware. Dont even get me started on the whole Froyo update...

HTC may not be the best out there in some ppls eyes but I still love there phones and Sense.

I may get the device, it really depends on it's performance in the real world. Yeah, all of them (Razr, Nexus, and Rezound) sound good on paper, but all phones have their problems. You need to find the ones that you can deal with. I am very glad my upgrade is in July of 2012. That way they will probably be lower priced, (if not in store then at 3rd party retailers) and I can see which one I really want.

The rezound is already rooted, has a custom recovery, and s-off. Plus a few roms already.bootloader unlocked, S-on turned....OFF

Agree, but something tells me the reviews are going to be VERY good. :)

The reviews seem to love the screen. Even kellex from droid-life said he likes it better than the razr. Plus the rezound will have a better and easier dev community.
