None of these LCD devices will fair well in the sun.

I'm not trading in my Xoom. No way.

Read the review of the ASUS. It's got plenty of "quirks".

I like my 3G in my xoom.

Heard the dock required customization with honeycomb.... if true the wait for updates will suck. I prefer my xoom

+1

That is one of my major concerns with the Transformer this early in Honeycomb's development. Also, ASUS really doesn't have a track record for updating it's Android devices yet. It is a bit of a gamble to buy a Transformer at the moment if you are expecting updates. Although, I have to say that dock is very cool.

They have already released a firmware update in the UK, it came out like two weeks ago. I don't think updates will be a problem for them.

Reasons the Xoom will be going back...

Horrible charger design. Only a matter of time before it bends or breaks.
Volume buttons way to stiff/difficult to operate.
Screen should have been IPS.
SD slot should work out of the box
USB support as well.

Aside from those issues, love HC and the Xoom but Asus seems to have a solid charger and volume buttons. The IPS screen, working SD and USB support day one with a dock/KB that adds battery life. Not to even mention both tablet and dock start $50 less than the Xoom.

No brainer to swap my Xoom for it. Overall better hardware considering IPS, full sized USB support and micro and reg SD card support. I will gladly tether to my TBolt so not worried about LTE connectivity. Tuesday can't come quick enough. Looks like a perfect fit for me.

Would that be anything like umm, the Xoom with it browser issues, force closes, poorly designed charger and volume controls? Or its non working SD and USB support?

Pick your poison, every HC tablet has its quirks. :p

To each his own but both tablets have issues.

The Transformer supposedly has a wi-fi only assisted GPS, meaning it can get your location only when connected to wi-fi, or something like that. Also, the camera does not have a flash. Personally, I'm keeping my Xoom since I think it looks way nicer than the Transformer (thinner bezel, metal two-tone back) and is more likely to get updates faster. Plus, it's been rock solid for me so far.

Doesn't the WiFi Xoom also have WiFi assisted GPS? I mean, there's a GPS receiver but without a 3G radio there's no conventional network assistance (AGPS). Works pretty well though, I have no complaints about GPS performance on my WiFi Xoom.

I have no regrets about buying the Xoom; sure it has some internal issues but it looks cool when you show it off to friends ;)

See bold underscored text above - USB works fine, I assume you don't like the micro-USB connector?

While micro isn't ideal, I would be fine if I could plug in a USB thumb drive or HDD to pull media from. However full size USB works much better for me and considering most people I work with have files or documents on a thumb drive, it will just be more convenient.

Believe me, I listed my issues with the Xoom very much by worst to least annoying. Even if the SD and USB worked, I think the KB dock simply has many advantages for how I work. The ability to use it with the KB dock at work with amazing battery life for when I travel and then set the dock aside for relaxing in the recliner or laying in bed catching up on forums, news and such.

I love Honeycomb, but since we have the choice among various hardware I am simply going the route I feel better suits how I want and need to use a HC device.

Also while I'm able to root and understand the process, I'd simply rather not mess with it and have the features working out of the box.

Yes it comes down to the transformer having...

An ugly design and bezel.
Being too large
A plastic feel

And not having...

A flash camera
Motorola build quality

I am very happy with the Xoom ... If I wanted the netbook look I would just buy a netbook. I am happy with the design and think that the screen on the xoom is just fine, not sure why people are upset with it, I can from a iPad 2 with IPS and haven't felt bad about my xoom display in fact the only thing I truly noticed is how much nicer it is to have a device with a higher pixel density. I am very happy!

Thing is...these are all basically Gen1 devices. Will there be a Gen2 at all (think netbooks)? Will it be better - and in what ways - as the product family develops? Lots of questions about where these are going, I think. I love Honeycomb and I have to say I really like the Xoom, though it has some significant limitations as well.
