Are you satisfied with your Pixel 2XL

I think what's really happening is the dongle isn't being detected, however the end result is the same. A simple reboot takes care of it for me. It used to happen to me on occasion but it hasn't happened recently so maybe an update fixed it.
Another possibility for why the dongle isn't being detected is lint in the connection socket. Either on the phone side or the dongle side. A quick shot from a can of compressed air might clear it out.

Been using my Pixel 2XL for about 2 months now. Absolutely no issues. Screen is great, the blue shift is almost non existent on my unit, camera is awesome, battery life is consistently 6 hours SOT, stereo speakers are great and no BT connectivity issues.

Couldn't be happier and would buy this phone again without a second thought.

I don't think that's it in my case...mine happens if the phone is running a long time without a reboot and the reboot always fixes it. It's a know issue and Google had acknowledged that they would deal with it with an update. It hasn't happened in a couple of weeks.

Exact same fix that I use. Rebooting immediately fixes the issue.
Haven't run into it with the Android P so maybe it's fixed.

I've been using the 2XL for almost a year now and haven't had any issues. That said, I'm upgrading to the 3 soon so... hopefully it doesn't get mad that it knows we're breaking up.

I would say that it's too soon to tell if Android P fixed it unless you've been on the developer preview a while. Mine stopped acting up but I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Just got my pixel 2 xl today for work. So far I like it, maybe not quite as much as my iPhone x but it's still a great phone.

I honestly can't see myself moving back off of the Google line of phones after picking up the Pixel 2XL. I've had mostly LG Android phones before this, and although I never had any issue with them, once I grabbed this phone it was like night and day. The software experience is so nice on the Pixel 2 XL. I love the simplicity of the Google styling, the camera is amazing. Love the free photo cloud storage. I'm running the P beta now and it's even better then Oreo. like I said...can't see myself moving to any other brand besides Google going forward.

I have a Pixel 2 XL I think it's a good phone overall with some really big drawbacks.

The Good:
- Camera. Probably the best thing about the phone imo. Consistently takes great shots in pretty much every condition. Would like to see improved low light performance and a zoom or wide angle lens in the Pixel 3.

- Software. Clean, fast, trouble-free. Throw in monthly security updates and fats software updates, it's very easy to use. Doesn't have all the whiz-bang features of other phones, but I'm fine with it.

- Battery. Consistently getting good (for my usage) battery life since I've had the phone. More would be better of course, but I'm satisfied with what I'm getting out of it.

The Bad:
- Build. I'm not satisfied with the build. Don't like the cheap-feeling plastic coating. Dont like the small glass window at the top which doesn't serve any purpose. The phone has quite large bezels on all sides. I get the top and bottom bezels are large due to the speakers, but not sure why the side bezels are quite so large. IMO the phone is ugly and I don't like the look of it. Hopefully getting all those HTC engineers can make the P3 something beautiful, like HTC devices always are.

The Ugly:
- Screen. This is a big blunder to me. Of all the flagships, this is probably the worst screen of them all. Worse than years-old Galaxy phone screens. It just has a multitude of issues including background grain, black crush, black smear, blue tint, low max brightness and seems to have high image retention/possible burn in. And what's even more crazy is the variance in quality. Some have intense blue tint (like mine) and others have very little. Seems the QC is just very poor. I just don't know how Google thought this was an acceptable screen for their phones, maybe they thought no one would notice it's issues? Unacceptable for the price Google are charging IMO.

If nothing else, I hope the Pixel 3 gets a *MUCH* better screen. Ditch LG if you have to, just get a high-end screen for a high-end phone.

Not at all happy with pixel xl2. Was happy with HTC and Samsung earlier.
Issues with phone:
Tends to hang especially when accessing the phone directory.
Is slow in response.
The display color has been a disappointed in all modes.
Had better expectations from Google but now going forward will need to think twice on buying any Google product.

I've had my Pixel 2 XL since December and am still loving it. Tried the S9+ for a couple of weeks and went back to my Pixel. Yes, it does have blue shift but that's about the only real flaw I have (and I guess I've gotten used to it by now).

My biggest issue is call quality. People can barely hear me on the other end. Everyone keeps saying I sound muffled and grainy. Dealing with automated calls is a nightmare.

"Sorry, I didn't get that...please try your call again", CLICK. 😮

I'd say you've got a phone with a bad microphone. RMA that sucker pronto. I've had no complaints about call quality at all, even now that I'm using the P DP 2 build on Project Fi.

Bad unit......only time I have bad calls is if one of us is in a dead zone

Apparently your reference point and defenition for the word "large" is vastly different than mine.
