The only phone that is worth waiting for the rest of the year would be the G2 abd to be honest, other than the Nexus 4, there really hasn't been a good phone from LG.

Not even the G2..

1. The UI is WAY too similiar to Touchwiz
2. It's plastic
3. No removable memory on a plastic phone? (Who's idea was this?)
4. Power and volume buttons on the back of the device? What if I want to use the phone when it's laying down on the table? Unusual button placement that I just can't see myself getting used to.
5. Copying the "Smart Cover" idea from Samsung also incorporating the view window.
6. Animations are too similar to those on Galaxy devices

I agree, I'm just interested in it for its specs. I've made my mind up, I want the One

There's no SD card slot on the One either.
Though you do get those forward facing speakers & metal body to compensate.
As long as Verizon carries the 32GB version I'm in.
It's gonna be in a case so I don't care so much about the color and I know better than to expect Verizon to do something like carry the 64GB version.
Now if they only carry the 16GB version they can suck my left nostril (and slurp the snot too).

If I'm not mistaken there are only 32 GB HTC Ones... (excluding the AT&T 64 GB one)... Not a 16 GB.

I thought I saw 16GB somewhere.
Hopefully I read it wrong or that site was wrong.

EDIT
Some sites are still saying it'll have 4.2.2 and it's supposed to be released with 4.3

Your correct, as of today, they only make a 32GB/64GB versions of the HTC One. Thats not to say that Verizon (being the amazing carrier they are) would get a 16GB 4 months late to us.

All else aside, were getting a 32GB Silver HTC One on thurs. Ill be inline on my lunch hour to pick it up.

It is coming with 4.2.2 out of the box. HTC is aiming to have 4.3 for all devices out by the end of September, not at launch for the Verizon variant.

Selling my i5 and picking up the one from VZ on Thursday!! It will be worth the wait. Only concern I have is how many units my local store will have.

Yeah I'm hoping the same ^

Does anyone expect there to be lines?

Jeez, you are so demanding..... I honestly don't believe smartphones processors go out of date unless they are extremely sluggish, which we all know the HTC One it's not.

Sorry, but at the price of admission and the speed at which technology evolves, it's beneficial to have the latest at release and not 6 months plus later. I know others are more casual and will go buy a computer or smart phone after they have been on the market for a year and be perfectly happy. I just find the LTE-A feature and efficiency of the Snapdragon 800 hard to ignore. I also was really hoping for 64 gigs and a black option. Perhaps this will happen with the Max. But I'm likely going to give the G2 a shot if HTC keeps quiet too much longer. But IFA is starting up, so this could be an exciting week for releases.

I love how people call this phone outdated. Since its release, there hadn't been a better phone out. I had a S4 and I use to be a big Samsung guy, but too be honest I think the S4 is a gimmick and so is it's features. The build quality is a joke when compared to the HTC One.

As for the note 3, it's just going to be a large gs4 and after owning the note 2 for awhile, I will never carry around such a big phone again.

I will be deciding this week, it's either the HTC one or Moto X(for stock experience).

I couldn't have said it better myself. I had the Note 2 the day it came out - for several months. While the screen was amazing, it was just too big to deal with on a day to day basis. I sold it and got talked into the Lumia 928 by a friend of mine - while the OS is smooth and the phone is a decent quality, I just cannot deal with not having certain apps. I am buying the HTC One later this week - just sold the 928 on fleabay. I bought my daughter the new Droid MAXX on the day it came out - she loves it, but it is meh to me - boring....the one MAX looks interesting, but again, it's not a phone - it's a frisbee.....

Why does everyone hate plastic so much? I just used a nexus for a few days, while it felt great I still don't see the "build quality" debate. How is something that is 100% subjective worth arguing?

GS4/iPhone5

For me it's not a hatred of plastic, but a hatred of the kind of plastic Samsung uses. There is just no excuse for that horrible, tacky, glossy plastic, when soft-touch is just as (if not more) durable and looks and feels 100 times better. What troubles me the most is that Motorola and LG are now copying that crappy look, most likely because they see so many Galaxy phones selling, and they think imitation will help their sales. Say what you like about the Droid line, but I always loved their "industrial" look and feel, which peaked with the Kevlar-backed RAZR HD. Now they've gone in the fingerprint magnet direction. It sucks.

Oh, and for the record, I'm not a fan of the glass-backed Nexus 4 or Sony's phones either. It might look and feel more premium than high glaze plastic, but it still smudges too easily.
