Are you still happy with the g4?

Maybe a rouge app?

The last app I downloaded was the ESPN fantasy football app. Before that was a couple of wallpaper apps that I can definitely uninstall. After rebooting my phone, it seems fine. For the moment at least.

Just got mine yesterday. It is by far the most beautiful phone I have ever had.

Funny about the iOS keyboard comments. I hate the iOS keyboard so bad. It's one of the reasons I came back to Android. The auto correct isn't bad but with no swipe, you have to peck out everything, I couldn't stand it. That and no symbols on long press made it a huge pain to use. Battery life was amazing on my iPhone6 though I'll give it that. That's really the only thing I like less on my G4, but it's just Android. They all have bad battery life compared to iPhone. I can get 4 to 5 hours sot on my G4, compared to 7+ on my iPhone.

Edit: thought I'd add that I don't really have any lag to speak of at all on my G4, and I've never felt it get more than the slightest bit warm. I'm very happy with the performance all around.

Totally agree. The terrible apple keyboard is why I will never go back to iPhone.
I mean seriously they still don't know the difference between upper and lower case? And how about a number row with out switching back and forth even on a screen add big as my ipad?

I'm very happy with my g4. Had it for 2 months now in a couple of days. Only had the heating up issue the first day but that can be from setting it up and downloading all the apps all at once. The camera is amazing way better than my droid ultra. BTW I have the Verizon version. The only thing I was worried about was before I got this phone was the complaints I heard about the leather backing but so far my mine is in great shape.

It's been a couple of weeks and I've had some app/browser crashes. Not often, just a handful of times.

Little issue with the auto-brightness. It's a bit on the dim side. I believe that's mostly for battery savings. Not much of a concern because I have a spare battery anyway. So I set the brightness.

Nothing major and I expected worse with all the apps I've added in, each app wanting as much resources as it can get to run itself.

Yes, but not quite as much. Apple is pretty good at limiting them.

Though, they also limit VZW from doing voice and data at the same time (hardware I believe).

When the iPhone 6 came out last year, Voice and data was introduced. So YES you can do voice and data on the iPhone now. 6 and up. image.jpg

So I've decided that next month I'm going back to the iPhone. Picking up a 6S. I just do t like this phone as much as I first thought. There's lag, mistypes, hitches, and it heats up. Also the screen is just too sensitive. I have it a good try and all but back to ios I go.

Not too happy that I gotta pay the 600 dollars for the phone off. But I guess I can always sell it later on.

My G4 suffered it's first battle scar today.

While getting it out of my Spigen Slim Armor to swap batteries, I accidentally scratched the leather, with a very unpleasant feeling as well.

Fortunately, however, the damage isn't easy to see and IMHO, actually looks a little better (I kinda like the look of partly worn and scratched leather). It would have been a lot worse and I would be much more annoyed if it was the brown leather back.

Interesting I can barely see it. I have both the black and brown and agree the black is MUCH more forgiving to damage and abuse. My black leather back is still in perfect shape, not case after 3 months.

The black leather is definitely much more durable and actually hides damage in a much better way than the brown one.

In fact, mine actually looks a fair bit better now.

I'm very happy with the G4. My only complaint is the default to sms was to delete text messages beyond 200. That really sucks - not sure who's to blame.

Had my G4 for about a month. My first android phone for years so somewhat of a learning curve. Had a recent round of app updates that cured any lag I had. Love the phone, but haven't quite got it optimised yet. Not a big fan of launchers. I close out apps all the time and regularly do the smart clean. Its working great. Didn't like the stock keyboard so went to flexsy. Not quite right but I need to adapt a bit too, having come from the Blackberry 10 virtual keyboard which was just awesome. Will get there in the end. Have noticed that while most of the time the camera is really nice, it doesn't always focus as fast as I would like and for action shots it is hopeless. But its a keeper. Give me two years and I will upgrade but can see keeping this for that long absolutely.

I've had the G4 for about 3 months now. Previous phone was a Nexus 5 (IMO, the gold standard for smart phones).

The first month or so was kinda rough. Lots of little quirks that drove me crazy and made me wonder if I had made a poor choice. But I hung in there, scoured this forum for workarounds and 3rd party apps, and have just about gotten the phone back to the level of comfort and dependability I had with the Nexus.

Unfortunately, one thing I won't be able to fix is the way the phone feels in my hand. My hands are just small enough that I feel like I'm constantly sliding it up and down so I can reach apps on the "far" side of the screen. I've gotten very good at this maneuver where I release the phone, let it slide down a half inch or so, tap, then wiggle it back up to its "natural" position. Not a huge deal, but like many things about the G4, just enough of an extra step to knock the overall experience down a notch.

It is a beautiful phone, though. I almost feel bad putting a case on it.

Unfortunately no. The phone is just lagging and having too many mis taps. I'm probably going to be paying this phone off and getting a iPhone 6S next month. I'll see how it goes.
