Are you still happy with the g4?

Man, some of these posts are disappointing. The G4 just caught my eye as and I checked it out in the store and really liked it. I am waiting on the Droid phones to be announced but I felt like this would be the phone i'd go with. I didn't read through this whole topic but read a few pages. Seems like there are more people unhappy with the phone than happy with it. Guess I need to keep looking before making a decision.
Keep in mind that many people come to the forums looking for help and solutions. There are some but not as many people who have no problems in the forums. So I'm sure the number of bad G4's we read about here don't represent most sold. There are problem posts about every gadget.

G4 4Now

I've just ordered an N6p. My love affair with the G4 has met death by a thousand niggles: I hate that the camera takes for ever to take the first picture after opening the app (is fine after that but by then I it's often too late); I find the UI experience to be annoying compared to stock on my old M5, I hate that I need to reset the thing every so often to get the performance back again, and even the the UI just feels in consistent compared to my N5 (especially since I put M on it). The leather back has worn in an ugly way and it's expensive to get a new one.

It's a real shame because there is so much to love on this device: the size to ergonomics balance is spot on, the camera is capable of taking amazing shots and the position of the buttons is genius (which will also prepare me well when it comes to reaching the fingerprint scanner on the N6p).

I'm using the G4 since it's came out and I think that is an amazing phone...just the battery could be better...we will see with android 6 if something will change

Do you remember how we hoped for the same from Android 5? :)

So I've had my G4 for about a month, am I'm still trying to decide if I like the phone or not.. I love the way it feels in hand, the leather backs are great, camera takes great pictures... BUT I feel like the battery dies way to fast when actually using the phone, the keyboard lag is ridiculous (yes I've tried all of the top rated keyboards..using google keyboard now with the best results), phone lags when opening stock apps, and it heats up like crazy...

I've had a ton of android phones but my most recent was the iPhone (not looking to go back to apple) but before the iPhone I had a Note 4, I don't remember the Note 4 getting hot and I feel like the battery lasted longer. Probably still had the lag with the Note 4, though I know the low light pictures weren't as good as the G6...

So I'm kinda looking at the Note 5 and the new Moto X

My business partner and I got G4's at the same time and his is on Verizon and I am on Tmobile. He hasn't experienced any heat issues, but the lag on his is really bad and almost nonexistent on mine and his battery life which is good, seems to be on par with mine. We have both disabled all of the carrier BS and his had nearly double what mine did or at least it felt like it since I did both phones. Way to go Verizon...

I really appreciate how LG was able to fit a 5.5" screen in such a compact chassis. The camera is fantastic as is the screen and my only complaint is that I do not like the buttons on the back of the phone. I thought after a month or so it would grow on me, but it hasn't and my business partner dislikes them as well. Like you I had a Note 4, but I was one of the unlucky ones with a camera that would only focus about half the time and I was ready to take a break from TouchWiz after having 5 Samsung phones consecutively and that's what led me to the G4.
As part of the deal I got the extra free battery and charging cradle and I have swapped batteries at least 6 times. Lets not forget the expandable memory either as both of these options are going away quickly. Bottom line, its a remarkable phone with lots of features for $460 at least from Tmobile. I think Verizon is still getting full retail.

When I get the urge for a buttery smooth and super fast phone I drop my SIM in my N6 as nothing beats the pure Android experience in my opinion especially when its on sale for $349, but my phone addiction makes me cheat often. I don't see myself even looking at the Note 5. Something about an all glass phone is a major turnoff for me not to mention Samsung phones are looking more and more like iphones with each new model. Wonder why Apple stopped using glass on the back of their phones? None of this was meant to offend anyone - just another opinion.

You know, if you put the screen at 0% brightness it will help out? Jkjk

G4 4Now

Yeah I get that. I'm just taking note of the issues and keeping them in mind. Still waiting on the Droid Turbo 2 and Maxx 2 reveals to make my decision. Battery life is probably most important to me right now but I just liked G4 while I played with it. We will see.

I've had mine since July and love it. Haven't experienced any problems.....yet!

On my 2nd one from verizon at the moment, and hope i wont have to go for a 3rd one. 1st one worked fine untill about 3 weeks ago, i got it back when it was less then a month out from launch. up untill 3 weeks ago no problems at all, it was speedy, i was happy, all was well, then, it started resetting when doing things like trying to reply to a text, or even read one, or opening a web page in chrome, or looking at a gmail, i read up on the what could be wrongs, and pulled out its sd card, and did a factory reset a day later when nothing improved, it even got locked into a reset loop where it would reset itself as soon as it turned on, and did it so many times it ran the battery dead, having gotten a free battery i decided to try it as well. nothing seemed to help and it got unbelievably hot around the camera area, after the reset it seemed to have fixed a few things, but then the camera wouldnt turn on anymore, no matter what app i tried i either got a black screen, or it crashed and said the camera could not start. so i did another reset thinking maybe something got tweaked. nothing else having worked i warrantied it, and got a replacement. the replacement is so far so good. But im no longer optimistic that the phone will last very long. Its kinda like when a new car breaks down really bad, before it did, you never thought it wouldnt get you where you wanted to go, after that, you worry if you will make it on even short trips.

This was my first LG, and probably will be my last, i have had phones from all the other majors except apple, and will never have one of those, of them all, this is the only phone i have ever had any issues with, much less one i had to get exchanged, it doesnt leave a good taste in the mouth for a $500+ phone, once you reach a certain point of cost, you expect little to no issues. this kind of price is well past that point. Sad thing is, it seems like everyone just says, well these are super complex devices, and $500+ isnt that much for them, so we just have to put up with the issues cause that is just the way it is. Red rings of death, cell phones that overheat and die cars with defective parts. When exactly do we say, enough is enough, make it right or dont bother, we are not your beta testers.

I was about to replace my g4 due to screen dimming, now with the lux app or stay on Ay 100 brightness no matter what. Honestly the camera is way better that any other phone or there (compared it to my girls S6) even she agreed. I'll just wait for the G5

I've had my G4 since May and I couldn't be happier. Better camera and faster than my G3, removable battery and qi wireless charging plus Dat Screen!

Guess I'm lucky to have no issues. Battery has been fine as well for my use.

What made you buy the nexus 5x and not the G4? Isn't the G4 better?

Basically the same. The G4 does have 3 gigs of ram rather than 2 gigs. Through the Google Now Launcher on the G4 for a stock experience.

Amendment: I should also say I question LG's ram management. I've read similar thing regarding the 5X. Lag after unlocking and the like. Some during web browsing.

I don't have lag at all and I mean at all.

Anyone want to buy my LG G4 mint condition original box and everything with it including leather back cover and spare battery. In London, United Kingdom.

i've had the G4 for a week now, coming from the M8, the M8 had less stuttering ( from the pull-down notification tray to scrolling in Chrome,Facebook,Google + etc.) and a bit better battery, i really wish a G4 with HTC software on it LOL
