Are you still impressed with the 3d or is it time for another device

!!!!! I played with a 3d today !!!!!

As a tech I get some benefits but today the regional manager came in with a 3d today and handed it over so I got a little bit over half an hour to play with his. The 3d is horrible head hurt almost 5 minutes into a game. I watched about 5 minutes or so of the green hornet and it was actually tolerable but you have to look at dead on or at a weird angle to actually see it kind of pop off... but all other aspects of the phone is where it shined. Smooth carousel except it kind of skipped over some Windows. Downloaded quadrant got 2098 for a returned score. The owner had a few large apps Adobe air cordy docs to go and a few others apps and still had 980.xx mb of internal memory left. Even though the screen isn't quite the galaxy s ll its a huge improvement over the OG evo. So yea bonnie N engadget are right but I'm still a fan and I'm still getting it. I just know I won't be using the phone for the 3d aspects since is looks like a mere hologram... BTW the buttons weren't "mushy"

Just once or everytime you used it?

It actually crashed on me a couple times today.. On youtube, and on the camera.

my worry is mainly the stability and call quality. possibly it's bulk... which has more to do w/ me unsure of going w/ a 4.3" phone, heh

... but the fact that everyone keeps saying that the phone gets lousy 4g and 3g signals ...
who is everyone? I've seen one review comment on it, and another say it's awesome.

As far as bulk is concerned put an evo in your pocket.. Its practically the same size... If you had no issues carrying the og evo, then you will be fine with the 3d.

I'm coming from a Pre. doing the sample at the store vs living with it for a month are two different things =) I didn't go w/ a nexus s because i figured if I'm going to get a big phone, i might as well go all the way (that and the wirefly $150 deal, and missing the nexus s for $100.. heh).

Eh, that crash doesnt look too good and the benchmarks...wow. My Nexus S gets benchmarks right around 2k. Everyone is complaining the 3D isnt that great and makes your head hurt haha. So 3D aside, isnt this just a slower Galaxy S2 with an inferior display? I know the 3D is higher resolution but qHD isnt quite S-AMOLED. I guess the only real reason to buy this would be you need a phone NOW or you love Sense's eye candy.

Since my upgrade eligibility is in September I get the opportunity to see the evo 3D and Photon get a good hands on before a purchase is made.

There are some great points made about the 3D reviews being subjective. Don't let poor reviews be the deciding factor. You'll be stuck with the phone for 2-years, so make sure that you like it.

The Reviews didn't change my mind one bit. Reviews are reviews, in the end it's up to you if you like it or not. I for one am gettings on 24th.

Meh only real review that made the Evo 3D seem terrible was engadgets so.....yeah im still getting it.

I would also take a look at the Galaxy S 2 as well. Which is slated for July release.

I wouldn't call the screen inferior,
granted it doesn't have those over saturated cartoony looking colors that the "superamoled" screen offers. Not to mention all the screen issues they're having (banding, yellow tint etc..) Better resolution is definitely a plus especially while reading text. So inferior.....depends on who you ask and preference.

Over saturated? haha okay! I will take the better viewing angles, blacks and much brighter colors anyday.

What screen issues? Their were very few reports of it at all, and none in the reviews for it. Android is also native in 480x800 still along with the apps. So the QHD is just stretching the image. I'm looking at two of them right now and see zero banding or yellow tint. Don't try and bash on something when you don't have any sort of hands-on experience.

Yep. Like how the iPad just takes and iPhone app and makes it bigger by stretching it 2x, its not making it any better or in a higher quality. I think with ICS Android will bump up to 1280x720, especially if thats the res the new Nexus display is supposed to run as rumored.

Yeah on my iPad 2 it has the same games, but they are different from the ones in the iPhone app store. They say HD, and are coded to a different native res.

Yes ICS will bump up the screen native. However when will the EVO 3D get that? Nobody knows... Probably won't be until next year.

Not bashing just stating an opinion, like everyone else buddy. It's seems like we have a lot of people trying to bash the 3D and it hasn't even been released yet. Funny how most of the bashing comes from people that just bought the Nexus Hmmmmm, I guess if I bought a phone with 1 year old hardware I'd be pissed too :(
