HTC has been sitting on the X's too long. Looking forward to seeing what's next from them.
On the contrary, introducing a model every other minute is what got them into financial trouble in the first place. The phone is only 5 months old.
They are waiting for a Quad-core with LTE built in from Nvidia. It might be the Tegra 4, or it might be a re-radioed Tegra 3.
HTC is reportedly disappointed with the Dual Core chipset's limitations that forced so many compromises in the One XL (aka AT&T) version just to get LTE. The performance is fine, but the power requirements, physical chip size, RAM requirements and cost, puts the One XL version at a manufacturing cost disadvantage when it comes to features and storage.
So until that next Tegra chip arrives there is very little point in re-releasing this phone. Because the best they could accomplish is to add a slightly better GPU for gaming.
