As the U Turns! HTC U11 Waiting Room!

Re: As the U Turns! HTC 11 U Waiting Room!

I've always loved the look of, and wanted, an HTC phone. Really hoping the 11 does well for HTC!

If you have never owned an HTC it's time to try one. I have tried many phones in the past and for me nothing's compares to a flagship HTC. No they don't have all the cute little bloated features of some of the other brands but that's what I like about HTC. The HTC 10 is just a good solid phone, clean design, fast, great audio, great camera and it just works with no hiccups.

This man knows.

Re: As the U Turns! HTC 11 U Waiting Room!

After years with the M7 in blue (best thing ever!) I finally gave in to the 10 when old blue started failing me. The 10 has been a good phone but I made the mistake? of going with the Verizon version and they are slow a hell with updates. Apparently non verizon versions dont work so great with Verizon so I made the hard choice. The 10 is ok, finally HTC made a decent camera but for the effort Id check out the next pixel 2 as HTC abandoned what made them good, their interface, in favor of stock google and that piece of s* touchpal (note their messaging app is only about 80% reliable on verizon). That not withstanding, I agree with the precious comments about price point. A bit pricey at this point ;)

The HTC 11 is on my watch list, for sure!

Re: As the U Turns! HTC 11 U Waiting Room!

I loved my HTC M7 except for the poor camera (purple background tint) and it seemed the subsequent models also had reported poor camera performance vrs the Samsung Galaxy models. If the HTC 11 U comes out with a good camera I'd definitely consider upgrading to that model. I think the S8 is just too fragile and has quality issues with their red tint screens. Unfortunately, I don't thin the 11 U will have wireless charging unless the back is made of glass or plastic.

Yea, I remember exchanging at least 3 M7 devices to get out that purple background tint. Still, I loved that device! The M8 dual camera setup, in my personal opinion, was a fantastic setup but HTC just didn't continue that trend moving forward. Wish they had.

The back is made of glass but I don't think there'll be wireless charging.

The camera on the U 11 will very likely be rated as high as the pixel camera which was the highest rated camera last year. The 10 was actually rated as high as the Samsung S7.

I'm impressed, other than the headphone jack they covered pretty much everything (ok may be wireless charging).

But I'm definitely impressed and pre-ordering first thing tomorrow morning in the US. Hopefully US is in the next week release region and not early June.

Lame 3000mah battery, no headphone jack, big bezels, HTC will never learn.

Re: As the U Turns! HTC 11 U Waiting Room!

Just preordered the Sapphire Blue! Can't wait to see what it's like to squeeze my phone!

It's hard to talk about the battery as nowadays battery performance is tied a lot with the hardware and software performance.

No headphone jack is not a biggie as many or some of us have Bluetooth enabled headphones.

Ok good for you but for most its a deal breaker.

Re: As the U Turns! HTC 11 U Waiting Room!

That Solar Red color looks dope but the last HTC phone I owned was the Thunderbolt and that phone was a piece of crap. I know a lot has changed since 2011 but it seems HTC has really lost it's way. I hope this phone can turn it around for them but oh man was that presentation super cringe worthy.

The forums here have imploded from the release of the 11! It looks like an amazing, premium flagship. Good for HTC! I really hope Rogers carries this, or I will just buy it unlocked!

HTC U 11 is on my watch list; as well as the Axon 8 and Moto Z Play's next iteration. But I may just do what I've always wanted to do and grab an HTC device. They've looked awesome for years but this one really takes the cake.

They give you a good set of headphones and an adapter. No deal breaker here. Charging while listening isnt a big issue as I am sure we don't all listen to music 24/7 and it does say 30 mins charge gives 50%. Just go make a cuppa or speak to somebody :)

Agreed! If I get an adapter and a good set of headphones (noise-cancelling, no less!), I'm good to go.

They are giving you a 3.5mm adapter so you can use your existing headphones. However, they do promise excellent sound quality and noise cancellation with the provided headphones. So, I wouldn't worry a lot.
